Iran Army Commander Warns Washington against Hegemonic Approach
Local Editor

If the US governing body fails to abandon its hegemonic approach, they will be forced to alter their policies, warns Iran's chief Armed Forces spokesman.

Iran Army Commander Warns Washington against Hegemonic Approach

The US governing body is a hegemonic, greedy, bully and blackmailer one, and all its hostility towards Iran is rooted in such characteristics, Brigadier General Massoud Jazayeri said on Sunday.

"Iranian people, from the very outset after the victory of the Islamic Revolution has been familiar with the US hostilities towards the Revolution, the Islamic establishment and high-profile bodies in the country, including the Islamic Revolution Guard Corps [IRGC], General Jazayeri said.

"The US should change its approach; otherwise we will make them do so," Jazayeri said.

"The public opinion considers the US and the global Zionism as the foster-fathers of terrorism," he said.

"It tends to constitute a historical irony that the terrorist Americans [US policymakers] describe the Islamic Revolution Guard Corps [IRGC] as a terrorist organization, despite the fact that from the very beginning of its formation the force has followed to fight terrorism as one of its main missions," he said.

The IRGC cannot be called a terrorist organization for its support of the Palestinian, Iraqi and Syrian people and while the force does not hesitate to confront local terrorists, General Jazayeri said.

"The world has not forgotten comments by the current US President Donald Trump, acknowledging that his predecessor was behind formation and beefing up the Daesh terrorist group [ISIS/ISIL]," he said.

"All available documents show that it was the US along with some reactionary regimes in the region that created and prop up Daesh and other terrorist groups," he added.

In revenge for the deadly attacks by Daesh in Tehran, the IRGC announced on Sunday evening that it has hit the terrorist group's stronghold in eastern Syrian Province of Deir al-Zour in a missile attack.

Daesh claimed the responsibility for the twin two coordinated terrorist attack in Tehran on June 7, which left 18 people, mostly civilians, killed and 57 more injured. The Islamic Republic of Iran had warned earlier that it would not leave unanswered the terrorist bloodshed.
