In His Name

Speech delivered by Hizbullah Secretary General, His Eminence Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah, during the Resistance and Liberation Ceremony held on May 25, 2017 in Hermel.

Sayyed Nasrallah’s Full Speech on Resistance & Liberation Day

I seek refuge in Allah from the stoned devil. In the Name of Allah, The Most Compassionate, The Most Merciful. Peace be upon the Seal of prophets, our Master and Prophet, Abi Al Qassem Mohammad, and upon his chaste and pure Household, and upon his chosen companions, and upon all messengers and prophets.
Peace be upon you and Allah's mercy and blessings.

In the name of the residents of Hermel, I welcome you to the city of Hermel - the city of martyrs. I welcome you to this celebration that marks a great, marvelous national day - the Day of Resistance and Liberation.

I will talk quickly today because I have much to say. So if I was a bit quick, consider it a requirement of the current circumstances.

This year we elected the city of Hermel to hold our national ceremony to highlight the position of this city and the position of this province, the residents of these towns, and consequently, we express the stance and position of the people of Baalbek-Hermel, the province of Baalbek-Hermel, and the residents of Bekaa in general in this great victory which was achieved in May 25, 2000. The young men from this region answered the call from the first day and filled the confrontation lines and training camps in the fronts in the south and west Bekaa. They offered martyrs, and some of them were taken as prisoners. They were arrested and imprisoned. Moreover, hundreds are still wounded at home. The families of martyrs and wounded, the resistance men in this region, and the supporting environment which the residents of this region formed for the resistance since its very first days - the time of estrangement, loneliness, and the forsaking of the world - must be highlighted every year on Resistance and Liberation Day.

We extend our regards to our people in Hermel and its towns and in the whole region of Baalbek-Hermel and Bekaa, and to its loyal people, whether men, women, youth, and the elderly. These people have always kept their promise since the first launch of the resistance, and they are still steadfast, loyal, faithful, and present by answering every call. They are ready for every position that requires courage, sacrifices, and endless giving and bounty. As was the case in the past and is now, it will be in the future God willing.

Brothers and sisters!

Allow me first to talk about the occasion to draw from it the moral. Thereafter, I will move to the internal situation and then the situation in the region, as we are now in an important and sensitive situation in the history of Lebanon and the history of the region.

By the way, on Resistance and Liberation Day, there is an excerpt which must be reiterated at the beginning of the speech every year. I mentioned this idea in 2016, 2015, and 2014, and it must be said and reiterated to be heard by the generations of young men and women in Lebanon and the Arab and Islamic world who were not born and were not contemporaries of the liberation and the achievements of the resistance in 2000 and before 2000, which were consolidated by those who lived and were contemporaries to this historic event.

So I will say what I will say to recall the past and to specify responsibilities and to be fair. When "Israel" invaded Lebanon in 1982, the whole world stood watching, and when the "Israeli" occupation army occupied almost half of Lebanon including the capital Beirut, no one in the world took a move. The Lebanese took a decision to resist the occupation and to liberate the land. The Islamic and national parties, movements, and factions in Lebanon took this decision and started with their humble capabilities and launched the resistance. They moved in their struggle until gradually achieving liberation and the great victory was in May 25, 2000.

All what I am saying now is not new. I am only reminding of it. At that time, from 1982 to 2000, those who believed in the resistance did not wait for any Arab or Islamic or western country, or America, or the Security Council, or the Arab League, or the Islamic Conference. On the contrary, America and the west and some Arab states offered support and backed "Israel" to occupy Lebanon. Those who believed in the resistance did not wait for an internal, national consensus due to the internal division. They did not even wait for external support. Well, yes in May 25, 2017, we must recall to the memory of the world and the Lebanese that the only two countries in the world which stood next to the Lebanese people in resisting the occupation and liberating the land and making victory were the Islamic Republic of Iran and the Syrian Arab Republic only. There was no stance, no position, no support, and no backing from any western state, Arab state, Gulf state, or Saudi Arabia or any other state, at a time when the entire world was offering support and protection for "Israel".

We must let our present generations know, and everyone must recall, that this great national and human victory was the result of the sacrifices of Lebanese resistance men from the various movements and factions - the Islamic Resistance, the Amal Movement, the Lebanese resistance parties and factions, as well as the Palestinian resistance factions who partook in the fighting and in the operations, and offered a large number of martyrs, and the Syrian army troops who withstood great burdens during those years and confrontations.

In this framework, we must always recall names which are linked to this victory as people who founded, established, and continued in the resistance: the imam and leader Sayyed Mousa al-Sadr (May Allah restore him and both his friends safe and sound), the master of the Islamic Resistance martyrs Sayyed Abbas al-Musawi, the sheikh of the Islamic Resistance martyrs Sheikh Ragheb Harb, and the senior jihadi leader Hajj Imad Moghnieh, and the other names, leaders, and personalities from all the various factions.

This victory is the result of the steadfastness of a people, especially in the south, Bekaa, and the frontal regions, and the sacrifices of the people and their patience, tolerance, and support of the resistance. This victory is also the outcome of solemn sacrifices offered by the Lebanese Army and the security forces during the various stages of this battle and this struggle.

This victory is also the fruit of the close cooperation between the resistance, the state, and the army before 2000 and after 2000 - however, when we talk about 2000 this relation was guarded by mutual trust, respect, and common faith in confronting the occupation. It must always be recalled that this historic victory was achieved under the tenure of President Emile Lahoud, Speaker Nabih Berri, and Premier Salim Hoss. This also must be reiterated and stressed on every such occasion. Brothers and sisters! The main moral we draw today from all what I said so far is the following:

The issue of confronting the occupation or confronting the controversial conspiracies or the foreign aggressions is linked in the first place to your will, determination, perseverance, and faith - the faith of any people. However, should this people lack determination, faith, and awareness, and is rather possessed by the spirit of defeat, dependence and reliance, and waits for others in the world, these others did not come and will not come.

So the issue is linked to you and your will. It is the will of the peoples of this region which are deciding the fate of peoples, states, and governments in this region - in Syria, Iraq, Iran, Yemen, Bahrain, and in every country which is being subjected to threats, conspiracies, and occupation. In Palestine, the Zionists bet on the death of the first generation and the second generation so that the following generations would enter the sphere of forgetfulness, abandonment, and being preoccupied with other issues. The great surprise in Palestine is that the resistance is being inherited from generation to generation and most of the self-sacrificing martyrs, the knife-holders, and the steadfast people in the front of confrontation squares are from the younger generation, whether males or females. So the point is that you produce what is taking place now and what is to come in the following days, weeks, months, and years. No one can make that for you. Neither America nor anyone in the world can do that for you. When "Israel" invaded Lebanon in 1982 as I said a while ago, the entire world was with it. Because the Lebanese refused the occupation, the strongest army in the region could not stay in Lebanon, and no army in any place in the world can stay in a region when its people refuse that. This is the main moral and essential point of strength. Thus we must trust in Allah and have confidence in our capacities and capabilities and believe that we can, and the proof is the great victory of May 25, 2000.

This is as far as the occasion is concerned. Hereafter, I want onto some local topics.

Based on this will and this spirit, this was reiterated in Bekaa in the past few years, in Hermel and Baalbek, when the events started in Syria and the armed groups took control over most of the border regions in Bekaa and Baalbek-Hermel, and started threatening to incade the towns and villages in Bekaa. These villages and towns received the greatest number of missiles, booby-trapped cars, and suicide bombers unfortunately. It was you who finally settled the stance. No one came from abroad to help you; on the contrary, the world abroad conspired with the armed groups against your security, honor, and blood, and provided them with ammunition and media, political, and financial support. As always in the resistance, they did not wait for national consensus due to the division which is ongoing and I do not want to evoke this file and stir wounds. They did not wait for anyone. You yourself took the initiative along with your national army, and confronted, supported, and offered martyrs. The resistance was by your side. As the sons of Hermel and Baalbek went and were martyred in the towns of the south, the young men of the south came and were martyred in the towns, mountains and barren areas of Baalbek-Hermel. This decision is the decision that protected this area.

Were it not for your will, attendance, and prompt action, a catastrophe would have befallen these towns and these villages, just as it befell all the areas, villages, and towns which these armed groups entered in Syria, Iraq, Yemen, and any other place.

So today we are before a repetition to this experience and this meaning and culture; however, in a different square and with a different enemy. This victory in confronting the terrorist armed groups was achieved gradually:

The first stage was when the attacks and expansion of the militants were contained. The second stage was when they were expelled from most of the Syrian border regions with Lebanon. There remains only a small part in west Qalamoun that overlooks the outskirts of Arsal. The third stage was when the eastern mountain range became secure. There remains the last stage which is securing the outskirts of Arsal. Here I want to reiterate the call again. The people of Arsal must exert efforts, and the Lebanese government must exert efforts. The status quo in Arsal outskirts must not continue for whatever reason. We are keen to spare blood and to put an end to this file peacefully via the possible settlements. Everyone must exert efforts in this perspective. However, the current situation must not continue. The armed groups are in these barren areas along with their booby-trapped cars and suicide bombers, and they may threaten this area and its towns and villages at any moment.

Again I tell the armed groups in these outskirts: your battle has no horizons. You are hopeless, and the track of the current war in Syria and Iraq with these groups has taken a totally different direction. Thus let there be an appropriate chance to put an end to this file in the best means possible.

The following point is related to the internal security in the Bekaa area and Baalbek-Hermel Province. The Lebanese army and the Lebanese security forces are taking appropriate and good measures and procedures. This was in fact the request of the residents of that area and the deputies, ministers, and the dignitaries of the area, and the state responded on the level of its security and military institutions.

First: we assert the importance of the official security measures in confronting the perpetrations taking place in the region. It is clear that things are much better now. Second: we call on our people for more cooperation with the army and the security forces to achieve this goal which is beneficial for everyone.

Some mistakes may take place. This is very natural because no one is infallible. Yet, don't let anyone exploit any mistake which may happen on a crossing point or by security or military patrol, to provoke the people against the army and the security apparatuses. This is what criminals and networks harmful to our people in Bekaa, and to the security and integrity of Bekaa want to exploit.

These cases must be contained and addressed with wisdom, law, and responsibility. Third and fourth: asserting on continuing this act to integrate also with all the efforts on the judicial file on which they are working om around the clock, as per amnesty when it is possible, and development, administration, and the other files.

The following point is the internal local situation. As per the elections and the electoral law in the next stage, time is becoming limited day after day. However, we are still wishing to reach a new electoral law. This is a true hope and is not merely meant to calm down souls.

During the past few days, according to our information and following up, because we are part of the concerned and the followers, there are some new ideas and propositions which may lead all sides to good results on the level of a new electoral law.

We still insist on the importance of reaching a new electoral law for the interest of the country and the credibility of all sides. We all said no to vacuum, no to extension, and no to the law of 1960. Reaching a new electoral law is what guards the country, the morals of all sides, and the credibility of all sides.

When His Excellence the President of the Republic General Aoun said a couple of days ago in the cabinet or in the press conference, that the political forces have a chance until June 20th to reach a new electoral law, it is normal and logical that there will be an extraordinary meeting for the parliament. This gives more days and more time, hoping we will reach the desired result.

On the level of the region, it goes without saying that everyone was looking forward to the so-called Riyadh summit, and what would result from it, and how it would affect the events and projects in the region. These summits convened and speeches, statements, and stances were eventually issued, and this is what I want to talk about, because it is an important turning point in the fate of the region and the fate of Lebanon.

However, allow me first to tackle the part that concerns Lebanon. That's because some talked about concern towards the Lebanese situation before the Riyadh Summit and after the Riyadh Summit. Indeed, this concern existed one way or another, and many expressed it, and this may have its repercussions in Lebanon.

Allow me today and briefly to assure all of the Lebanese that all the stances and statements which were said, schemed, announced, and issued will not have any repercussion on the Lebanese internal situation, thanks to the Lebanese people's wisdom, open-mindedness, and agreement. I will tell you why.

A period of time ago, since the election of President Aoun and the formation of the new government, we had an internal agreement that there are regional areas on which we do not agree. For example, Hezbollah denounces the Riyadh Summit and the Riyadh Declaration, while the Future Movement welcomes the Riyadh Summit and Riyadh Declaration. There is no problem in that. We agreed that as far the regional causes are concerned we differ. We differ over Syria, Iraq, Bahrain, Yemen, Saudi Arabia, Iran, and Palestine. However, we agreed that as far as the Lebanese internal affairs are concerned, as far as security, stability, reconstructing the state, and following up the economic and living affairs are concerned, and as far as internal reform and national dialogue are concerned, we must talk with each other and reach an agreement, be together in the government, have patience towards each other, and trim edges. This is what gave Lebanon during the past few months this level of security, stability, and calmness. Even the most difficult files are approached in an acceptable way.

Well this agreement is still valid in the post Riyadh Summit era. This must be recalled, and this helped effectively in firmly reinforcing this situation. This is what I mean when I said the summit will not have any repercussions on Lebanon. Apart from the equivocality of the participation of an official Lebanese delegation in Riyadh the Summit, what took place after that is as follows: in fact, this declaration was not discussed in the summit, the leaders, presidents, kings, princes, and ministers were not acquainted with it. It was rather drafted and announced after all participants left.

The first point is that the Lebanese Foreign Minister Gibran Basil took the initiative, which I can describe as honest, courageous, and responsible, and I mean what I say. I do not want to be courteous to him. Put the Lebanese details aside. However, as far as this issue is concerned, this must be said:

- It is honest because this is the truth. The statement was not discussed in the summit - the so-called Riyadh Summit.

- It is courageous because many of those who left and heard of the declaration via the media outlets were not courageous enough to issue a statement or say that they were not informed of it or that no one told them or asked them or consulted them, and this is indeed a misfortune.

- It is responsible because it fortifies the country and protects the country, and the national makeup, and the current national harmony.

One day later, the stance of His Excellence the President of the Republic, General Michel Aoun, asserted this idea and added that Lebanon is committed to the (presidential) oath speech and the ministerial statement. Moreover, what took place yesterday also in the ministerial session in the Baabda Palace in the presence of His Excellence the President of the Republic and the Premier and ministers from the various political forces. They asserted that Lebanon is committed to the oath speech and the ministerial statement, and that the Riyadh Declaration does not bind Lebanon, and this is what the Future Movement also said.

Indeed, all of this protects Lebanon and fortifies it, and is asserted by all the political forces in Lebanon. We want our country to be isolated from the repercussions of these summits and this announcement, regardless of whether as a party, a current, a group, or a movement, we back or oppose this summit. This is a very positive point in the current national conduct in Lebanon.

Well, moving now to the situation in the region, allow me before talking about the summits to start with Bahrain and what took place during the past couple of days.

Everyone knows that there is a massive, extensive, peaceful, popular movement in Bahrain in which the overwhelming majority of the Bahraini people partake. This movement was led and is still being led by His Eminence Ayatollah Sheikh Issa Qassem, with much wisdom, deliberation, calmness, and peacefulness, despite the violence. However, the Khalifa regime did not seek to make dialogue and negotiations and to respond to the demands of the people - and most of them are demanding reform only. Rather, the protesters were confronted with fire, killing, and arresting clerics, leaders, symbols, killing young men and executions, crushing their bones, imprisoning women, bursting into homes, demolishing mosques, and besiegement on all levels, until reaching the stripping of Sheikh Qassem of his nationality and the taking of a decision to deport him. This led thousands of the Bahraini men and women to stage a sit-in in the surroundings of his house - a sit-in that lasted for almost a whole year. In the open air, in summer and winter, the men and women of Bahrain sat to protect their leader, their cleric, their man of wisdom, their symbol, and their guarantee. The Bahraini authorities attempted many times to stage an aggression against the protesters to burst into his house.

Now, it is as if this is one of the outcomes of the Riyadh Summit, and the blessings of Trump and his meeting with the king of Bahrain to the effect that ‘go and do whatever you want, there is a US president behind you'. No matter how long you talk about human rights and democracy, he is not ashamed. He only is after money. Thus the attack was fierce on the square of sacrifices in Diraz. There are martyrs, wounded, and missing, whom the Bahraini authorities must reveal their destiny. They also terrorized all the houses and families in the town and imposed house arrest on His Eminence Ayatollah Sheikh Issa Qassem. We also found out that they are contacting a state here and a state there to deport His Eminence to it. Here I call on the Lebanese government to take a decision similar to the decision taken by the Iraqi government to the effect of refusing to have Sheikh Qassem deported to Lebanon. In fact, they may do this and surprise the Lebanese that His Eminence is on board of a plane at Beirut Airport. So the Bahraini authorities must be informed beforehand of the stance that refuses such a move because what is normal and logical is that Sheikh Qassem be set free, the siege be lifted, and he live in his house in Diraz in security, safety, and peace.

This is the guarantee for Bahrain and the people of Bahrain and the future of Bahrain. The other options are mean, bound to fail, and incorrect, and they must be warned of, and everyone in the world must assume his responsibility in this regard.
Now we move to the summits. First, it was said that there were three summits. This is in form; as in fact there was only one summit - a bilateral summit between Saudi Arabia and America - meaning between President Trump and King Salman and the delegations they brought along. The US-Gulf Summit is a ceremony of honor and hospitality, while the US-Arab-Islamic Summit which comprised 55 or 65 states was a reception for President Trump, and it was not a summit or a conference because there weren't preparatory committees and articles distributed to the attendees. Neither foreign ministers nor ministers of defense met beforehand, and there was not anything like a draft, dialogue, negotiations, or talks. They merely gathered the heads of most of the Arab and Islamic countries and King Salman delivered a speech before them as well as President Trump, in addition to two or three other speeches.

Even the rest of the speeches were not delivered because the king was tired - this is what they said. As such the officials returned home; some delegations were not even escorted to the airport in a farewell bid.

Then everyone was surprised by the so-called Riyadh Declaration, which is in fact a US-Saudi announcement, as the overwhelming majority of the 55 Arab and Islamic states had no idea about the announcement and its content, which is in itself a scandal.

You can see for example that the statement reads: the attendees discussed, the leaders asserted, the leaders stressed, the leaders welcomed, the leaders decided...This is at a time when the leaders did not discuss or welcome or assert. They had no idea and did not hear anything. Some were asleep and later they heard of the statement from media outlets.

The mere truth is that Riyadh Announcement is in fact a Saudi-US announcement.
This is indeed a scandal and a point of weakness and a farce in summits and conferences. Nothing of this sort takes place around the world. However, in any case, this has precedents in Saudi Arabia as what took place a year or two ago in confronting the steadfastness of Yemen and the people of Yemen. At that time, the Saudi Defense Minister showed up to boost the morale, announcing the formation of an Islamic military coalition that comprised 30 states. Some states had the courage to say: "We had no idea of that. No one talked with us to this effect. No one contacted us. We heard of that in the media". Can you imagine that! He forms an international Arab-Islamic military coalition at a time when some states had no idea of that and only knew of it via the media. This is not new of Saudi Arabia and its conduct. So the true summit is a bilateral summit. Well, this is in form; so what must be followed by us and criticized and discussed are the bilateral agreements, and what was offered to the Americans, and what the Americans bound themselves to with the Saudis, and the repercussions of such agreements on the region. This is the serious part, and the rest are mere speeches, words, stances, lunch, dinner, fashion show...

Second: the expanded summit to which a large number of states, leaders, and heads of states were gathered. The question here is: what took place? How can what Saudi Arabia did be described? What is it in particular? What is the reason behind it? What are the goals behind this massive gathering?

1- What really took place was a kind of veneration and glorification of Trump. There are scenes before which man must pause but which I do not want to discuss now.
2- The central position of Saudi Arabia in the Gulf and in the Arab and Islamic world was highlighted. As if they were telling the Americans that "we are the center of the Arab and Islamic world and the Gulf; we gather the world; we summon them and align them to listen to your speech." On the moral and political level, this has an outcome which I will reach in a while.

3- Intimidation was practiced against Iran and the resistance axis to the effect that: "See Iran, Syria, Hezbollah, Hamas, the resistance movements, the Iraqi people, and Yemen! The US is coming, and all of these international, Arab, Islamic, and Gulf masses back a war against you". This is indeed worthless, and I will go back to it in a while.

4- It was an attempt to push the US and to convince it by all means to intervene directly in this confrontation with Iran and the axis of the resistance.

When Saudi Arabia did all the ceremonies it held, these were the main goals it wanted to achieve.

The next question is: why did Saudi Arabia do this and with this president in particular?

Let's start with the first goal: what is behind this glorification and veneration to President Trump? These are the reasons:

For over a year of his electoral campaign, President Trump was the president who most harmed Islam as a religion, and Muslims as followers and as a nation. He is the president who most offended the Arab nationality, Saudi Arabia, and the Gulf.

Isn't this the president who said that Saudi Arabia is a dairy cow which we must milk and then extinguish? He is the most racist president. This is the first president who when arriving at the White House issued a decision preventing Muslims and those associated with 8 Arab and Islamic states from entering the US. This is the president who loves, supports, and backs "Israel" the most.

Well, this president did not do anything yet. Well, actually you make an honorary reception for a president and offer presents to him when he makes an achievement, defends you and your sanctities, and makes an achievement for the Palestinian people. What did Trump do so that all of these awards and prizes be given to him? This president is sitting on an imbalanced chair. You never know when he will fall.

What a waste this money would be in case Trump was removed! What is the logic? What is the idea? How was the mind used?

In fact, man stands astonished before this Saudi generosity - the generous ceremony, the financial generosity, and the political generosity. On the internet, someone asked the board of senior scholars in Saudi Arabia: is glorifying the Prophet and marking the Prophet's birthday a forbidden heresy, while glorifying Trump and welcoming his arrival and pampering him a legitimate deed that promises proximity to Allah Almighty? Put this aside, these are religious considerations; however, in politics what is the logic behind that?

This president was offered what no other president in the United States was offered. The question remains: why? This is what I will talk about in the fourth section.

Why did Saudi Arabia do so? Here I will talk facts. I will not use harsh or defamatory words or anything of this sort. I only want to describe, and whoever says this is wrong, this will be his view point.

First: Saudi Arabia wants to protect itself. The Saudi regime wants to protect itself in Saudi Arabia before the world. Why? That's because today in the world, even inside the US and Europe and all around the world, it is not hidden anymore that Saudi Arabia stands behind the Takfiri groups and the Takfiri thought. The whole world knows this now. Trump personally knows that and talked about it in his electoral campaign. American, western, and international magazines know that. Daesh teaches in its schools the books of Sheikh Mohammad Abdul Wahhab and the Wahhabi books. The intellect of al-Qaeda is Wahhabi. Who created al-Qaeda? It is Saudi Arabia. Consequently, the entire world today views the Saudi regime as the center of the Takfiri thought and the center of supporting the Takfiri groups in the world, from whose oppression and knives not only the Lebanese, the Syrians, the Iraqis, the Yemenis, the Egyptians, the Afghans, and the Pakistanis are suffering, but also now Belgium, France, Britain, Germany, the US, and the entire world are suffering from. The growing list has also included Indonesia and Somalia.

Saudi Arabia feels that the whole world is looking at it with wrath; thus it needs to bribe the US master to defend it, protect it, and present it as a center for confronting terrorism and war on terrorism, and push away this accusation from it. However, this is fruitless.

See Saudi Arabia in all of these summits wanted to say one and only one phrase which King Salman voiced: Iran is the source of terrorism and the center of world terrorism since the victory of great Imam Khomeini Revolution. These buried words were vocalized by King Salman. Iran is the center of world terrorism. Is it Iran and not al-Qaeda? Did Iran found Daesh? Did Iran found the Taliban? Did Iran found the Wahhabi movements and armies? Did Iran fund and arm them?

Yes, Iran supported the resistance movements in Lebanon. That is true. Iran supported the resistance movements in Palestine? That is true too. Iran backed the Iraqi people when Daesh was about to storm into Najaf, Karbala, and Baghdad. Iran stood next to the Syrian people when Saudi Arabia was dispatching arms and money to the terrorist groups in Syria. Iran is accused of sectarian provocation? Who is accusing Shia of being atheists? Who is accusing the rest of the Muslims of being atheists? Is it Iran or the Saudi Wahhabi intellect and the body of senior Saudi scholars and the religious educational centers in Saudi Arabia? All throughout its history, Saudi Arabia accused Muslims of being atheists, while the history of the Iran of Imam Khomeini is to bring sects closer together, to establish unity among Muslims as well as proximity, dialogue, coexistence, and cooperation on benevolence and piety.

Saudi Arabia will not gain anything in shifting the accusation to Iran. In fact, the whole world can see these facts are as clear as broad daylight. Facts cannot be hidden anymore by a speech here and a conference there.

So first, Saudi Arabia wants to protect itself from this international condemnation. Now in America there are open judicial files about Saudi princes who were affiliated to the September 11 events which were executed by the al-Qaeda organization in America. Now billions of dollars of Saudi money in America will be confiscated in the interest of these families.

Second: why did Saudi Arabia act in such a way with Trump in the past couple of days? That's because it needs the American master to preserve its role in the region. It had flopped in everything. It flopped in all its schemes and wars and goals. In Syria, so far it has flopped. In Iraq, it flopped. O' brothers! The origin of Daesh is Saudi (Arabia). It's not only that its thought is Saudi but also its money, administration, and expectations are Saudi.

Well, in Yemen, two years and a half have passed on the war on a people who is offering sacrifices and showing much patience and honor. They brought along the armies of the world. It is unfortunate that the Sudanese army among other armies partake in this war. Yet, for two years and a half the Yemenis have been steadfast and strong despite hunger, siege, poverty, and haphazard shelling around the clock. Here we go back to terrorism. Is Iran the source of terrorism or you? Isn't this war on Yemen an act of terror? This is international terrorism which did not spare living and non-living things, mosques, historical sites, hospitals, markets, schools, universities, houses, farms, or fields. Now some medicine is being sent to Yemen. Who is besieging Yemen? Who is starving Yemen? Who is responsible for the spread of cholera in Yemen? Who is slaughtering the Yemeni people? It is the Saudi regime. Still the world is silent, and no one dares to say a word for fear of Saudi Takfirism, Saudi media, or Saudi financial boycott in case Saudi Arabia provides them with money. This is a moral, humanistic crime perpetrated by the world against what is taking place in Yemen.

So Saudi Arabia flopped in all its wars and schemes in the region, and this failure is starting to be reflected internally on the relations of its princes, on its people, on its economy...Thus it is now in need of the Americans to protect it from within and to preserve its role in the region.

Secondly, the Saudi regime and Saud dynasty have a problem called Iran. In fact, the way they praise the pre-Imam Khomeini Iran is really weird. The Shah of Iran was an American, an "Israeli", and a supporter of "Israel". He used to deal with arrogance with the kings and princes of the Arab Peninsula and the Gulf States. You can see the images; they are on the internet. They used to walk and sit at his service. It seems they are accustomed to those who humiliate them and treat them arrogantly. However, he who presents himself as a respectful brother and as a negotiator who cares for Islamic ties and the interests of the nation is met with such grudge and aggression.

So the story has to do with Iran and the resistance axis. Saudi Arabia offered everything to Trump for the sake of a war on Iran, for the sake of isolating Iran, for the sake of staging an aggression on Iran, and for the sake of a war on the axis of resistance. Thus Saudi Arabia was willing to offer him anything he asks for. This is what took place.

Well, does Trump cares for what takes place around the world? He only wants money, and he has "Israel". So he cares for money and for "Israel". The Saudis had a look and pondered: "We had to guard ourselves and our role. I want to bring America along to fight Iran and the resistance axis after all of these armed groups, movements, and armies flopped. I do not have (anyone) except the Americans. Well, how am I to gain America's favor? I know how to seek to gain Allah's content. It is through praying, fasting the month of Ramadan, performing Hajj and Omra, supplication, visiting the Holy Shrines, and reciting the Quran. Well, how am I to gain Trump's favor? That is through what makes him content. He is content with money. Take until you are content, O' Trump. The media was talking about 110 billion dollars as the cost of the arms deal. Then it became 300 billion dollars. Al Arabiya wrote on the news bar 480 billion dollars is the worth of the agreements and deals with the US companies. 480 billion dollars is the worth at a time when Saudi Arabia is seeking to cut expenditure and is suffering poverty and an economic crisis. All the money they own, they offered to Trump.

What about Palestine? They told him that they are ready for whatever he wants from Palestine. Trump held a message from King Salman to Netanyahu: we are ready for whatever you want from Palestine. Thus in the three summits, no one said a word about Palestine or about the prisoners who are on a hunger strike for 38 or 39 days now, or about the hundreds of Palestinians who are on a hunger strike and who were submitted into hospitals due to the deterioration of their health conditions. No one said a word about the sanctities and about al-Quds or Gaza or the siege on Gaza. No one said what might have annoyed Trump as per Palestine. Allah only knows what they offered as far as Palestine is concerned. We must wait and see. They are talking about a summit that would take place soon in Sharm al-Sheikh. There are talks about the initiation of new negotiations, knowing that when Trump came to Netanyahu and even when he met with President Abbas, he did not give any positive sign as per the Palestinian causes - not the least of positive signs. The Saudis offered him money, and here is Palestine being offered to him on a plate of gold. So all this glorification and veneration were for these goals.

Now, what will take place or what might take place? This is the most important part of the speech - thanks be to Allah there is still some time for me to talk.

First: Iran was the main topic in the Riyadh Declaration. I would like to tell you something. Let's scan the words which were delivered. The Jordanian king delivered a two-and-a-half-page speech - he did not mention Iran. The Egyptian president delivered a speech - he did not mention Iran. The Prince of Kuwait delivered a word - he did not mention Iran. Only the Malaysian president mentioned Iran. It is supposed that this summit is against Iran and that this announcement is against Iran. This is what Saudi Arabia wanted to quote the leaders who were present as saying though they had no idea about that.

What was the result? First as for Iran, at the time in which those were gathering in Riyadh, the Iranian people were renewing their confidence in the regime of the Islamic Republic in Iran. 42 million voters partook in the elections - meaning more than 73% of the citizens eligible to vote. By the way, Iran witnessed presidential and municipal elections. Do you know what does municipal elections in Iran mean? That means that those responsible for the ballots are 650 thousand (people). In Lebanon, we all know each other; still when we carry municipal elections, we can't carry them out in one day in Lebanon; we rather perform them in provinces.

In Iran, there were 42 million voters, and the presidential elections were hot, and the municipal elections were hotter, as is the case here in Lebanon. Still, not a slap on the face was noticed, not a bullet was shot, no car accident took place, and no one was wounded despite the hot elections. The presidential elections ended, and the Iranian president was re-elected.

This is Iran, which states that do not know what elections, democracy, and ballots mean, want to fight. If you take a ballot, they would ask what is inside it. Are there eggs, cheese, or yoghurt? They don't know what elections mean. They want to fight a true republic which expresses the will of its people who is present that much forcefully, via statements and announcements and the like.

You have tried this before. It was Saudi Arabia which instigated Saddam Hussein to launch the war on Iran for eight years. They themselves say that they paid 200 billion dollars to Saddam Hussein in this war. What was the result of this war on the entire region? Saudi Arabia did not spare anything which it may do over the past decades to weaken Iran. What is new in what it is doing? Let me know.

This is as far as Iran is concerned. I further tell them that Iran is growing stronger, mightier, more present, and more influential. This is what the world acknowledges.

As I am still talking about Iran, and after I described what is taking place, my advice to Saudi Arabia is: leave the struggle, grudge, and war aside. Your only solution for the interest of all the Muslims, the whole region, the Gulf States, and the peoples of the region is dialogue with Iran and negotiation with Iran. Iran has always been ready. This path you are moving on will not lead to anything except spending more billions of dollars and more bloodshed, and you will be the losers and you will flop as you have flopped and lost so far and as Iran has won so far. This is an advice from a Lebanese Arab Muslim man to an Arab Muslim state which raises the name of Islam. As for that track, it will not lead to any result.

Second: as for Yemen, these summits will not do any difference. The Yemeni people, the Islamic and national leaderships in Yemen, the Yemeni parties, the Yemeni Army, and the popular committees are all determined to confront and stay steadfast, and they have remained steadfast so far. The Saudis have done all what they can do on the military level over the past two years and a half. They had brought along all the mercenaries and all the armies they can bring. They have dispatched all the air forces they can dispatch. They did everything: siege, cholera, and illness...all what we have talked about a while ago. Still, what is the result? The outcome is military failure as well as political failure. Now, I do not want to go into details about the south of Yemen and the north of Yemen and what is taking place in Aden. So what I know is that this Saudi track and Riyadh Declaration has no value as per the current battle in Yemen and the parallel current steadfastness in Yemen.

In Iraq, the Iraqi people took their decision. The Iraqi troops are about to settle the battle in Mosul. There are only small neighborhoods left. The popular mobilization is through in Qeirawan and is moving towards Baaj, and will advance towards all the other areas.

In Iraq, there is a national, official, popular, party, and scholarly consensus to put an end to Daesh.

In Syria, we are witnessing more and more victories in the field. See all what is taking place in south Palmyra and east Homs and others; Daesh is being afflicted with more defeats and withdrawals.

Allow me to tell you that if Allah wills there will be no need for the 32,000 reserve force they are forming to fight Daesh in 2018. God willing by 2018, there won't be Daesh in Iraq or Syria - at least in our region.

As for the resistance movements, you mentioned Hezbollah and Hamas. In fact, what is meant are all the resistance movements and all who are fighting the Zionists and the occupation. I also want to tell you that these summits, statements, and announcements will not make any difference.

Imagine that the US President Trump in his speech before the alleged summit praised Saudi Arabia and reasoned out that Saudi Arabia is resisting terrorism by saying that yesterday they placed a senior Hezbollah leader on the terrorist list. What a big achievement! All our money in the banks in Paris, London, America, Switzerland and other states are yours. Take them. We will forgive you.
Yet, this is part of the war.

What I want to tell them is that those resistance men, whether they are Lebanese or Palestinians, and whether they are called Hezbollah or Hamas, know from the very beginning that the path they chose and they are moving on, and what they will face all along the way.

Our name is placed on the terrorist list from the very beginning of the 1980s. What is new in that? Sanctions have been imposed on us for a long time now. The same applies to the media war. Before the Riyadh Summit took place by tens of years, hundreds of millions of dollars were spent to defame us. What will you say more than what you have already said: drug dealers, car robbers, terrorists, killers, criminals? What is there more? Brothers and sisters! There is nothing new which we are afraid of. This is a mere reiteration of all what they have been doing over decades of time.

As for the resistance movements in which Sheikh Ahmad Yassine, Fathi Shiqaqi, Sayyed Abbas al-Musawi, and Haj Imad Moghnieh are killed, they are not frightened by threats of killing and fighting or war or death. What might you frighten us with? Martyrdom? We are the lovers of martyrdom. Death? ‘Ali enjoys death more than the enfant enjoys sucking at the breast of his mother'.

We are the children of the school in which Hussein (Peace be upon him) tells his son: are we not righteous? He answered: Yes. Then Hussein said: so we do not care whether we come across death or death comes across us as long as we are righteous.

As for Qassem who was 11 or 12 years old and who is now present in all our homes in Lebanon, Palestine, Syria, Iraq, Iran, Afghanistan, Yemen, Bahrain, inside Saudi Arabia, and everywhere in the Islamic world, when he was asked about death, he answered: it is sweeter than honey.

Is this death which you are threatening us with? We are not afraid of death, war, fighting, sanctions, intimidation, and media distortion. We have transcended all of this. All of this has been exploited over all the past years. Thus the resistance movements will not be shaken, will not be influenced, will not be weakened, and will not be frightened. They will continue their action and movement. I will tell you even more. Today, the resistance movements within the framework of the resistance axis are stronger than any time in the past. We are more in number and power, and we are stronger, more determined, more faithful, and more hopeful.

We have an example which I talked about in the last speech I gave. Those who met in Riyadh are not even half (the number) of those who met in Sharm al-Sheikh in 1996. At that time the US, Russia, China, the European states, the Arab states, and African states convened. They said that there are three groups which we want to crush: Hezbollah, Hamas, and Islamic Jihad. They condemned Iran and Syria as supporters. They held conferences, formed committees, and met later on in Washington, and the heads of intelligence bodies convened.

At that time, the Islamic Resistance in Lebanon was limited in number and ammunition. The most advanced weapon we used to possess was the Katyusha which reaches 20 kilometers away. In 1996, Hamas and Islamic Jihad were in prisons, displaced, and hiding. Iran had just emerged from war and was suffering, and Syria was subject to a siege and isolation. Despite Sharm al-Sheikh Summit and all what they did, as a result of the steadfastness of the resistance in Lebanon, the steadfastness of the resistance in Palestine, the steadfastness of Syria, and the steadfastness of Iran, everything was reversed and within months - several months and not years - the world forgot the Sharm al-Sheikh Summit.

As for today, where is the resistance axis? It is in Lebanon, in Syria, and in Iraq. In 1996, Iraq was under Saddam Hussein. Today, Iraq is being governed by its people and its banner is raised by the armed troops and the blessed popular mobilization forces. The resistance axis is also in Iran and Yemen as well as in many regions in the world. So the situation is different.

At that time America was something and now it is something else. "Israel" at that time was something and now it is something else. "Israel" which used to invade now is building walls. So things are different. The circumstances are different.

I just want to tell you to take things in a very normal way. I took your time while describing things just to tell you: let no one deem you weak. Nothing took place in fact.

Well, yes the Americans want to have a stronger presence in the region. What is the problem in that? The worst thing that can take place is that the Americans come to the region. They came in the past to the region and occupied Iraq and threatened Syria and Iran. However, later on, the Iraqi resistance and the steadfastness of the resistance movement in the region obliged them to withdraw.

What does America want to come and do? We as peoples in our countries, we are determined to live in dignity and we stick to our land. We will stay here; we will not go to any other place in the world. Here we defend our blood, womenfolk, honor, money, homes, dignity, and the future of our children and grandchildren. Thus we are stronger than the whole world.

Nothing frightens us at all. We are stronger than we were during any time in the past. I won't say they are weaker than they were in any time in the past; I say they are less powerful than they were during any time in the past. Consequently, we want to see things in a logical way, and we want to assume responsibility and to move along.

We will continue calling for stopping the war in Yemen and opening the way before the Yemenis for negotiations. We will also call for halting the aggression against the people in Bahrain and opening the gate for negotiations. We will call for stopping the support of the terrorist Takfiri groups in the region and searching for political solutions. Otherwise, Allah Almighty says in the Quranic Ayah: {...They spend their wealth to hinder from the path of Allah, and so will they continue to spend; but in the end, they will have only regrets and sighs; at length, they will be overcome...} So that your money would not be squandered and so that your efforts would not be gone with the wind, things may be put aright. I know that no one will listen to my voice. I am just saying this as evidence for the Day of Judgment when I will be questioned and held responsible as everyone will be questioned and held responsible for his stance at this stage. Everyone will be held responsible on the Day of Judgment for Yemen, Bahrain, Iraq, Syria, Lebanon, Palestine, and the sanctities in Palestine, and we must assume responsibility.

Brothers and sisters! In 2006, we said based on the victory of May 2000 and July 2006, the time of defeat has gone with no return, and the time of victory has come. Victories are before us in every field and every square and battle, though these battlefields are among the toughest and the most complicated. However be certain, the expectations are clear. I tell you again: trust in Allah, trust in yourselves, trust in your peoples, and trust in your allies. We trust in our allies. We trust in all those whom we fight alongside. As for you, you must assume the responsibility; do not expect that we come and fight for you by proxy, as Trump said.

Today, the NATO Secretary General announced that NATO has partaken in the war on Daesh. However he said that they would fight from the air, and that they will not dispatch land troops. Those you depend on have always failed you and sold you in the slave market. As for the resistance axis, they are honorable, resisting, sacrificing, honest, and faithful men who offered their own children, and remained steadfast for long decades. They will not leave the squares. They will not flee the battlefields before the Riyadh Summit or after Riyadh Summit, meetings, speeches, and announcements. This resistance, this resisting nation, these resistance movements, and these peoples will always raise the banner. This banner is raised high and will not fall ever until the complete victory our peoples and nation are looking forward towards is achieved. We are certain that this will take place. This is the promise of Allah, and indeed Allah's promise will be fulfilled. And indeed Allah's promise will be fulfilled.

May you rejoice every year (in celebration). May you remain in good health. May Allah protect you and bestow victory on you. Peace be upon you and Allah's mercy and blessings.
