Egypt: Gunmen Attack Coptic Christians, Kill 23

According to initial reports, at least 23 people had been killed and 25 others wounded in the attack, which took place in Egypt's southern Minya Province on Friday, south of Cairo, the provincial governor, Essam al-Bedaiwy, said.

The group was travelling in two buses and a truck through the province, which is home to a sizable Christian minority, he said.

There was no immediate claim of responsibility for Friday's attack.

About 70 had been killed in bomb attacks on churches in the cities of Cairo, Alexandria and Tanta since December.

The attack came after church bombings in December and April claimed by the Wahhabi Daesh [Arabic acronym for "ISIS" / "ISIL"] group that killed dozens of Egypt's Coptic Christians.

The Wahhabi terrorists had threatened more attacks against the Arab country's Christian minority.
