At Least Eight People Killed, Over 20 Injured in Deadly Clashes in Libyan Capital

The clashes left at least eight people killed and over 20 wounded, media reported.

Clashes between the city's two largest armed militias and an alliance of extremist terrorists were taking place in two main districts in the south of capital.

At least eight people, including civilians, were killed and over 20 were injured, the BBC News said on Friday citing local medical sources.

Civil war in Libya is ongoing since 2011, when the country's then-leader Muammar Gaddaffi was toppled and killed with the help of NATO forces.

The new UN-backed Government of National Accord [GNA] still cannot establish its authority on the whole territory of the country, which is divided by different rival groups, including Daesh [ISIS/ISIL], the Libyan National Army and other militia or terrorist groups.
