The following are the Islamic-Resistance operations that took place during the month of December in 1996...

Islamic Resistance Performs Thirty-Six Operations in December, 1996

The resistance squadrons performed 37 operations, 36 among which were performed by the Islamic Resistance. The enemy acknowledged the death of two soldiers and an officer, in addition to the injury of 6 others, among who was Chief of the Liaison Unit Eely Emetai. As for the agents, none was directly killed by the resistance; instead, one died and two got injured while escaping from Houla Site.

Among the most significant Islamic-Resistance operations were targeting a Zionist patrol of the Golani Brigade and attacking a motorcade of major enemy chiefs, among who were the Chief of the Liaison Unit and Commander of the operation chamber in Marjeeyoun.
Still, the fighters targeted a military motorcade, on which was "the Northern Command" Chief Amiram Levin.
This month, too, it was significant that the enemy announced the presence of a special military unit called "Egoz", which was targeted by the Islamic Resistance on Markaba-Odeisseh Route.

An officer of this unit, which is considered as the Golani Brigade's elite, has mentioned that the unit's work styles resemble those of the Islamic Resistance in the occupied region, whereby the Resistance's styles depend on guerilla wars.
In fact, the military correspondent of the enemy's Channel 2 has talked about the promoting procedure made by the Zionist officials, whereby he's mentioned, "Announcing this procedure merely offers an official acknowledgement regarding what everybody knows... The purpose is to shatter the impression that Hizbullah is the only initiative side."

On the same day of announcing the presence of this unit, another announcement was made: only 25% of the "Israeli" men endure the burden of deputy service; whereas most of the remaining men try to escape the service.
In fact, that coincided with rounds of some governmental officials of enemy in the occupied region, among whom was Minister of Agriculture, Rafael Ethan; in addition to major Zionist officers, whereby they rounded the military sites of the enemy and its agents, and they met Agent Provocateur Antoine Lahd so as to bring his devastated command and agents back to their spirits.

Islamic Resistance Blasts Zionist Egoz Force on al-Borj-Shkief Route, December 7, 1996

A week after the promoting announcement of the Egoz Unit, the Islamic Resistance bombed an explosive, targeting a Zionist patrol on al-Borj-Shkief Route; thus, a soldier died and another suffered injury.
This operation took place after the "Israeli" talk of certain procedures made by the occupation forces so as to counter the Resistance's operations and develop the transportation means of convoys in the surroundings of Shkief Site; also to prevent the convoys from leaving on a fixed schedule and to make them take different routes on arrival and departure.

Millions of dollars have been spent on the fortification of Shkief Site and the routes leading there, a report of the enemy channel has mentioned.
However, these procedures haven't succeeded in stopping the operations of the Resistance that targeted the Zionist patrol anyway. The Zionist enemy acknowledged the operation; claiming that one soldier was killed and another was injured and saying that the explosive bomb was controlled remotely.

The enemy channel mentioned later that First Sergeant Muhammad Hojeirat (28 years old), a member of the Golani Brigade and an Arab "Israeli" track trailer, was killed during the operation.
The Chief of "the Northern Command" Amiram Levin checked the operation zone and formed an investigation committee to discover how the operation had been performed.

Islamic Resistance Wounds General Eely Emetai, December 14, 1996

In reaction to the ascending Zionist aggressions, the ongoing penetration for the April Agreement, and the increasing rate of threats, the Islamic Resistance has ascended the rate of its jihad, targeting the enemy's military chiefs.
Also after the fighters penetrated the security procedures of the enemy and aborted its attempts to limit the increase in the Islamic Resistance's operations, the Resistance targeted a motorcade on which were major enemy chiefs on al-Aychieh-ar-Rihan Route on December 14, 1996.

Using firearms and artillery, the fighters struck the motorcade that consisted of three civil cars, whereby two were destroyed, and their passengers suffered casualties, and the third car was damaged. Among the officers attacked were Chief of the Zionist Liaison Unit in Lebanon General Eely Emetai and the chief of the enemy's operations chamber in Marjeeyoun.
Being at a close distance, then, the fighters struck the motorcade with a barrage of bullets. And as the enemy brought a motorized force to rescue the motorcade, the Islamic Resistance bombed it with an explosive bomb, destroying a half-track and causing casualties to its crewmen.

A Zionist military spokesman has acknowledged the operation, saying that Emetai was wounded with another soldier that was accompanying him. Later on, Emetai himself admitted that the three cars of the motorcade were shot.
On the other hand, the Islamic Resistance has announced, with pride, the martyrdom of two fighters during this heroic operation: Muhammad Radi al-Fann from al-Khraybi Town in Baalbeck and Zaher Fakhri Hamada (Abu Ragheb) from Hermel Town.

Overwhelmed upon the persistence of the fighters' unique strikes, the occupation forces, in addition to their agents, suffered a reverse action of their bullets, whereby information from the occupied region has mentioned that a patrol of the occupation forces shot the security chief of the Lahd Militia, Abbass Moussa.
The incident occurred in Kfarfila Town while he was driving his car alone on the main road, and he suffered a critical head injury.
Thus, he was treated for a whole week in Ram Bam Hospital in Haifa, after which he died. In fact, Kfarfila has witnessed tension upon the killing of agent Moussa, whereby its people have refused to receive his corpse.

Unique "Operation Markaba", December 24, 1996

On the 24th of December, 1996, the fighters performed a unique operation on Markaba-Odeisseh Route, bombing with an explosive an "Israeli" patrol relative to the Special Egoz Unit, described by the enemy as invincible elite.
In fact, the operation was performed at the heart of the occupied borderline, three kilometers away from the Lebanese borders with occupied Palestine.
The Islamic Resistance has displayed a video tape on the operation, whereby the Zionist soldiers appeared falling to the ground before a Zionist helicopter arrived thirty minutes later to evacuate the casualties, dropping thermal grenades so as to escape the Resistance's missiles while flying towards occupied Palestine.

As this operation resulted in the death of the force's chief and his assistant and the injury of four other soldiers, it shook deeply the Zionist military commands, especially as it confirmed, anew, the Islamic Resistance's ability to penetrate the security procedures and strike strongly after the fighters determine the setting; such ability exists in spite of the enemy's state of alert.
Actually, this operation provoked a wide quarrel between the enemy's commands and these of the agents. Following were wide arrest campaigns as the enemy claimed that our people in the occupied regions had been supporting the Resistance fighters and helping them to target the occupation forces.

Fire Backup Unit Razes Braachit Site, December 19, 1996

For the second time in a week, the Islamic Resistance has confirmed its ability to chase the enemy chiefs, whereby on December 19,1996, "the Northern Command" Chief Amiram Levin, accompanied by Chief of the Liaison Unit, Eely Emetai, was on an inspection visit to Braachit Site; then, the fighters monitored a military motorcade of high-ranking enemy chiefs at the site.

At once, the Fire Backup Unit targeted the site, razing it with intensive fire and bringing about definite and direct casualties within the site.
As acknowledged by Levin, the agents' channel has reported that the site was bombarded while Levin was there.
