"Inadmissible", declared the Dutch court in dismissal of Wilder's challenge against his indictment in a much-deserved lawsuit.

The extremist Dutch lawmaker Geert Wilders produced the 17-minute Fitna movie in 2008 which met massive international rejection and disgust at the fanatical depictions under the "right to freedom of speech".

The Dutch filmmaker's extremist production, screened in the Netherlands in 2008, prompted international protest and a lawsuit.

The indictment charges Wilders with insulting Muslims by describing Islam as a fascist religion and calling for the banning of the Qur'an, which he likens to Adolf Hitler's Mein Kampf.

He is also accused of inciting hatred and discrimination for stating Moroccan youths were violent, calling for the Qur'an to be banned and for Dutch borders to be closed to all "non-Western immigrants", as well as for advocating an end to what he terms "the Islamic invasion of immigrants."

If convicted, Wilders will face a maximum of 1 year in prison.

Wilders, who claims his prosecution is a "political process," is due to appear in an Amsterdam court next Wednesday for a hearing to plan the modalities of his trial, set to be held later this year, AFP reported on Wednesday.
