Chief of Staff Rahm Emanuel, the top Jewish member of the Obama administration, met with Jacob Dayan, "Israel's" consul general in Los Angeles, about two weeks ago followed by media reports expressing Washington's deep disturbance with Israel regarding peace talks.

Emanuel told Dayan the US is sick of the "Israelis" who adopt suitable ideas months too late when they are no longer effective, "Israeli" newspaper Yediot Ahronot reported.

Emanuel also reportedly warned that the Obama administration would decrease its involvement in the conflict if there were no progress in the peace process.

In a statement late Wednesday, Israel's Embassy in Washington claimed that the article in the "Israeli" paper had distorted Emanuel's views.

"During his visit to Los Angeles, Mr. Emanuel reiterated his unflagging commitment to Israel's security and his devotion to the search for Israeli-Palestinian peace," it said.

Besides, the continuous work on settlements in the occupied East Jerusalem Al-Quds has stirred worldwide criticism. "Israel", however, seems ignores the calls to stop its illegal activities.
