The Islamic resistance masses and supporters in Lebanon held a sit-in in al-Qaa'em (may god quicken his reemergence) Compound - in al-Sfeir, Dahiyeh, protesting the desecration and violations the Aqsa Mosque has been exposed to.

In Beirut the Islamic Jama'ah also amassed a sit-in in support of the Aqsa Mosque.
Mr. Osama Hamdan, the official foreign relations spokesperson of the Islamic Resistance Movement- Hamas, spoke to the protesters saying that what the Aqsa Mosque is being subjected to is a test of the intentions of those panting after a settlement, and added:

"It is time for this nation to break the wall of fear of oppressors and tyrants and move forward; what life is it to live in humiliation while the nation's sanctities are being violated?"
He said "the nation's dignity lies in offering hundreds even thousands of martyrs rather than live under the rule of oppressors and tyrants."

Hizbullah's word was delivered by Sheikh Akram Barakat, who provided an historic presentation of the Aqsa mosque and its status in religion and in achieving the dreams of the prophets throughout history. His Eminence emphasized that the Aqsa Mosque is not an area for political negotiation, the God blessed mosque and its surroundings- the Quds (Jerusalem) and land- is the cause of all Muslims, it is our history, our present and our future.

These days the Aqsa Mosque is threatened by 22 underground holes, and by the constant threats, intimidation and arrest of its worshipers and those who answer the Prophet's invitation to pray there.

The Zionists desecrate and violate its sacred limits, whereby the Jewish organization is weaving activities to change the image of the Quds; they are in process of ratifying the construction of a huge occupation settlement neighbourhood in East Quds. This forms a threat and a warning of a new campaign aimed at the displacement of the Palestinians and the Maqdisyans (Jerusalemites)... the Judaization of the cherished Quds and the removal of Islamic and Arabic landmarks from it.

In front of all this and all the many other such acts... a loud call is sent out asking ‘where are Muslim and Arab rulers? Are they living in fear of losing their thrones and possessions...what thrones or ownership will remain if the Quds is gone?
The nation ought to cry out ‘O Quds, O Aqsa'...

Is all this not sufficient enough reason for the ummah (national) to rise up and take notice that the enemies want to divert the compass from its right and proper direction.
The Aqsa Mosque today calls on all Muslims to unite...

Today the Islamic nation stands before one of its members that represents its honor and dignity, its history, present and future, a member and part groaning of occupation... and before its eyes the sons of the Aqsa mosque are being arrested in "Israeli" jails and in the large prison that is Gaza...

It is forbidden to maintain silence any longer on what is happening against the Aqsa Mosque; the silent will carry the burden of that silence before God...

On this day, we reiterate the call and the slogan long repeated by Imam Moussa Sadr: "The Quds' honor refuses it be liberated but by the hands of the faithful."
