US forces release five Iranian diplomats who were abducted in 2007

Iranian Ambassador to Iraq Hassan Kazemi Qomi announced yesterday that the US forces released the five Iranian diplomats abducted in Iraq in January 2007 and handed them over to the Iraqi Prime Minister Nuri al-Maliki.
He said the five men would be handed over to the Iranian Embassy in Baghdad after meeting Maliki.
"The five Iranians were released and they are in the hands of the Iraqi government. We should receive them in the next hours," a source at the Iranian Embassy in Baghdad stated.
