Hizbullah Secretary General received on Friday the head of the Marada movement MP-elect Suleiman Franjieh accompanied by Marada official Youssef Finanos.

The four-hour meeting, attended by Sayyed Nasrallah's political assistant Hajj Hussein Khalil, discussed latest developments at both the domestic and regional levels.

According to a statement issued by Hizbullah media relations, the meeting covered recent elections and the political situation on the domestic and regional levels. The two leaders also discussed the implications of last week's policy speech by "Israeli" Premier Benjamin Netanyahu on Lebanon and the region in general.

Sayyed Nasrallah and MP Franjieh agreed on the need "to focus energies on bolstering domestic and national unity in the face of dangers posed by "Israel" especially concerning the right of the Palestinians to return to their homeland."

The two leaders also discussed the latest electoral process in Lebanon and its outcome as well as the upcoming stage, especially in regards to the next government and the national dialogue roundtable. Sayyed Nasrallah and Franjieh reaffirmed the opposition's "unified stance" in the face of all challenges, based on the past experiences.

In a TV interview, Franjieh stressed that the meeting was scheduled prior to the meeting between Sayyed Nasrallah and the head of the Democratic Gathering MP Walid Jumblatt. He denied that the meeting was a "response" to anyone, hailing the meeting between Sayyed Nasrallah and Jumblatt as a "developed move."

Meanwhile, Sayyed Nasrallah also received a delegation from the Syrian Social National Party (SSNP) head by the party's chief MP Assaad Hardan and including Minister Ali Kanso and Kassem Saleh. The meeting, that discussed the electoral process, the upcoming stage and the national opposition plans, was also attended by the member of Hizbullah political council Hajj Mahmoud Qmati.
