Hizbullah candidate for the Shia seat in the Tyre district Nawwaf Moussawi accused the majority of paying large sums of money to voters to secure victory in the upcoming parliamentary elections.
During a political lecture given in the Ghobeiri area on Friday, Moussawi said that "these elections are important and decisive," and they will shape our future.

He went on to say that the opposition should not handle the elections lightly, "because we only have two choices: Either we win, or we continue confronting the offenses we faced in the past few years," adding that if the opposition wins the majority in the elections, it would turn a new page in Lebanon's history.

"However, if the current majority wins, then Lebanon's future would be unknown, he said. "Our only goal is for the opposition to win the elections."
Moussawi described the opposition's chances in winning the elections as good, but called on all to vote to enhance the chances of the March 8 coalition at securing victory.

He said that "Hizbullah would do whatever it takes to fulfill this goal, even if it was at its expense," and stressed on reinforcing the opposition's unity.
Moussawi said that "the opposition's agenda secures Lebanon's stability, and the current struggle is of a political nature, distant from" sects and religion.

He emphasized on consensus democracy, saying it "is a necessary condition to form a [functioning cabinet] in Lebanon. He also said he found Prime Minister Fouad Saniora's recent remarks strange, which Moussawi said stated that the Doha Agreement promoted the policy of obstruction.

He also said that "whoever considers partnership as obstruction aims at disrupting the Lebanese model, because he is incapable of defending or implementing it."
