Sheikh Qassem: Communication is on with PSP, Berri our candidate for House Speaker

Deputy Secretary General of Hizbullah, Sheikh Naim Qassem said "there is ongoing communication taking place with the Progressive Socialist Party (PSP), adding in an interview today, Friday to the Qatari "al-Raya" Newspaper, that "any future meeting between Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah and MP Walid Jumblatt will be at its due date."

Sheikh Qassem emphasized that the relationship between Hizbullah and the House Speaker Nabih Berri, is "strategic" and Berri "is our candidate for the presidency of the House of Representatives."

Regarding the files to be opened after the parliamentary elections, Qassem brought to attention two important files Lebanon is badly in need of: "The first is related to the political vision regarding preserving Lebanon's strength that must continue within the framework of a defensive strategy, which takes into account strengthening the State's independence and steadfastness in its confrontation of the 'Israeli' dangers, and in its dealing with liberating the Shibaa Farms."

As for the second and fundamental issue, Qassem said, "It relates to the need to begin
serious work on social and economic development, to address the issue of
balanced development, public debt and the unemployment situation in the various sectors, under the title of development and treating people's affairs."
