The chief minister of Pakistan's Punjab province brings together an investigative committee to probe into a bomb attack at Chakwal Mosque.

Shahbaz Sharif announced on Monday that after the completion of an inquiry by the new committee, a strategy would be developed to deal with the criminals involved in the bombing.

On Sunday, a bomb exploded at a Shiaa religious gathering in Pakistan, leaving at least 30 people dead and hundreds of others injured.

The explosion took place as thousands of Shiaa Muslims had gathered in Chakwal -- some 100 km southeast of Islamabad in Punjab province.

Sharif noted that Prime Minister Yusuf Raza Gilani has offered assurances that the Punjab government would be given all necessary resources to fight terrorism.

Earlier, a Pakistani police official announced that security forces had arrested two suspects in relation to the explosion.
