One month later, Obama popularity stumbles downhill
President Barack Obama's popularity has declined to 67 percent from 76 percent since he took office in January 20, a CNN survey says.
Obama's job approval rating dipped by nine points in his first month in office amid ongoing economic woes and partisan battles over government spending plans, a CNN poll published Friday showed.
Almost a third of those polled disapproved of Obama's handling of the job, while 23 percent said he had fallen short of expectations.
Another poll by Fox News and Opinion Dynamics poll showed that Obama's job approval rating stood at 60 percent on February 17-18, down from 65 percent three weeks earlier.
The president's personal favorability rating also declined to 68 percent from 76 percent a month ago.
While Obama's approval ratings do remain relatively high, politicking over the $787 billion stimulus plan passed by Congress on February 13 appears to have eaten into his previously stratospheric popularity.
According to the CNN poll 60 percent were in favor of the bill, while 39 percent were against it.
