A Qassam rocket fired from the northern Gaza Strip on Friday morning landed in an open area in the Eshkol Regional Council in southern occupied territories at around 6:30 am. There were no reports of injuries or damage. Almost an hour later, two additional rockets landed near Sderot. There were no injuries in this incident as well.

The rockets were fired as Hamas reported of progress made in the Egyptian-mediate talks ahead of a lull agreement between the Palestinian organization and "Israel." Deputy Hamas politburo Chief Moussa Abu Marzouk said Thursday evening that such an understanding would be reached within two days.

According to Abu Marzouk, the agreement would include the reopening of the Gaza Strip crossings. He also said that the release of captured occupation soldier Gilad Shalit was not part of the deal.
On Wednesday, three mortar shells landed in open areas in the Eshkol Regional Council in the afternoon and evening hours. The area's residents reported hearing explosions, but there were no injuries and no damage was caused.

Meanwhile, "Israeli" helicopters continued to attack Hamas the latest was launched at a position in the southern Gaza Strip, but no one was injured in the raid, witnesses and Palestinian security services sources said. The helicopter fired two missiles on the Khan Younis headquarters of the security services of Islamic resistance group Hamas, which controls Gaza.
