The Leader of the Islamic Revolution His Eminence Imam Sayyed Ali Khamenei offered his condolences on the “martyrdom-style” passing away of President Ebrahim Raisi, declared five days of public mourning, and appointed the first vice president as the manager of the executive power.
In a message on Monday morning, Imam Khamenei sent condolences on the passing away of President Raisi and his entourage in a helicopter crash in northwestern Iran.
According to His Eminence, “The Iranian nation lost a sincere, devoted, and valuable servant; the ingratitude and criticism of some ill-wishers did not hinder his continuous efforts for progress and reform.”
“The entire tenure of President Ibrahim Raisi, whether during his short presidency or before that, was spent in tireless service to the people, the country and Islam,” he said, pointing out that “President Raisi preferred satisfaction of people which amounts to God's satisfaction over everything else.”
In parallel, the Leader underlined that “Vice President Mohammad Mokhber assumes the duties of the president in accordance with Article 131 of the law.”
“Mr Mokhber is obliged to arrange to elect new president within maximum of 50 days,” he said.
