Hezbollah Secretary General His Eminence Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah delivered on Monday, May 13, 2024 a speech at the honorary ceremony marking the 8th martyrdom anniversary of martyr leader Sayyed Mustafa Badreddine [Sayyed Zolfiqar].

At the outset of his address, Sayyed Nasrallah extended heartfelt condolences to the families of the martyrs who have bravely sacrificed their lives in the noble endeavor of liberating Al-Quds.

His Eminence conveyed his warm regards to the valiant fighters injured across all battlefronts, praying fervently to the Almighty for their swift and complete recovery.

Furthermore, the Resistance Leader commended the steadfast and courageous fighters on every front, acknowledging their remarkable displays of heroism, courage, strength, determination, enthusiasm and unwavering conviction.

Sayyed Nasrallah emphasized that “the martyr Sayyed Zolfiqar was truly deserving of the highest honors, including the Medal of the Combatant, the Wounded, the Detainee, the Commander, and the Medal of the Achievements’ Maker”.

“Ultimately”, Sayyed Nasrallah said, “God bestowed upon him the most esteemed honor of all: the Medal of Martyrdom”.

The Hezbollah SG asserted that “there were attempts to draw Syria into the orbit of American influence or to incite it into a civil conflict. However, Syria has successfully weathered the storm of global warfare and has steadfastly maintained its position”.

Also in his speech, the Resistance Leader reflected that “With the deployment of every offensive or reconnaissance drone, the memory of the martyr Commander Hajj Hasan Al-Lakkis is vividly recalled”.

Sayyed Nasrallah emphasized that “the blood shed by Sayyed Badreddine and all the martyrs has yielded the desired outcomes”. “One of the pivotal motives for Hezbollah's involvement in Syria”, His Eminence asserted, “is to safeguard the Axis of Resistance”.

The Resistance Chief averred that “despite the falsehoods propagated by the US and the Zionist entity, Palestine stands as the central issue of global concern today, resonating throughout the entire world”.

His Eminence highlighted that “the unwavering resilience and resistance demonstrated by women, children, and fighters have significantly transformed the dynamics surrounding the Palestinian Cause, as well as the perception of the adversary”.

“The momentum for an independent Palestinian state remains strong, with over 140 countries worldwide persistently advocating for its realization,” Sayyed Nasrallah underscored.

The Secretary General pointed out that “the demonstrations in American and European universities in support of Palestine were among the tangible outcomes of Operation Al-Aqsa Flood”.

Also in his speech, he criticized the “Israeli” envoy to the UN for disrespecting the entire international community by tearing up the UN charter.

Sayyed Nasrallah highlighted that “a significant political and media moment reflecting the image of victory for the Resistance occurred when the ‘Israeli’ envoy displayed a picture of Abu Ibrahim, Yahya Al-Sinwar at the United Nations”.

The Hezbollah Chief emphasized that “Operation Al-Aqsa Flood, along with the steadfastness and the sacrifices of children and women in Gaza and South Lebanon, have exposed the true face of ‘Israel’ to the world”.

Nonetheless, His Eminence emphasized that “the Palestinian resistance and the sacrifices made in Gaza have underscored the collective responsibility of the entire world to address the Zionist entity”.

He noted that “while the Zionists reject the idea of a Palestinian state, viewing it as a threat to their existence, Operation Al-Aqsa Flood has compelled countries worldwide, including the US, to acknowledge that the only viable solution is the establishment of such a state”.

Sayyed Nasrallah criticized certain Arab leaders for their inclination towards normalization with the Zionist enemy, which would have spelled disaster for the Palestinian Cause.

The Resistance Leader highlighted that “within ‘Israel’, there is a growing consensus that the entity suffered defeat in Gaza, despite Netanyahu’s claims of being on the verge of victory”.

Sayyed Nasrallah pointed out that, “even his allies are openly mocking him”, highlighting the tenuousness of the “Israeli” PM’s assertions.

He emphasized that “a crucial outcome of Operation Al-Aqsa Flood is the recognition within the Zionist entity that victory has not been attained,” underscoring this by noting that “70% of ‘Israelis’ are now calling for the resignation of their Chief of Staff”.

“The Zionist entity failed to achieve any of its declared or strategic objectives, including defeating the Resistance, displacing Palestinians from Gaza, or securing the release of captives,” the SG explained, pointing out “that the Zionist entity’s deterrence was severely compromised after Iran's Truthful Promise Operation”.

Sayyed Nasrallah stated that “senior ‘Israeli’ generals believe Netanyahu’s insistence on war is leading the entity into a precarious situation”.

“Netanyahu's desire to invade Rafah stems from a need to shake off the perception of defeat,” Sayyed Nasrallah said.

The Hezbollah Chief painted a stark picture, suggesting that “the leadership of the Zionist entity lacks a clear vision for the future, leaving them directionless and uncertain about what lies ahead”.

The Resistance Leader underscored that “recent events at the United Nations and the International Court serve as confirmation of the unwavering support provided by the United States to ‘Israel’,” lamenting the lack of any substantive change in the US position regarding this matter.

Elsewhere in his speech, Sayyed Nasrallah cautioned against being deceived by the current diplomatic maneuvers, emphasizing that “the United States remains steadfast in its support for ‘Israel’”.

His Eminence outlined two potential paths for the “Israeli” enemy: “either accepting defeat by reverting to the mediators' proposals or persisting in a war of attrition”.

He stressed the historical significance of the ongoing battle, asserting that “regardless of the sacrifices made, it is poised to generate a monumental and tangible achievement”.

Drawing from Imam Khamenei’s earlier statement, Sayyed Nasrallah suggested that “the Zionist entity is now ensnared in a quagmire in Gaza”.

The SG affirmed “the commitment of the Lebanese support front to persist in both quantity and quality, thereby shaping strategic equations”. He emphasized the critical importance of the connection between the Lebanese and Gaza fronts, highlighting “its decisive nature” in the ongoing conflict.

Addressing “Israeli” settlers eager to return to northern territories, Sayyed Nasrallah urged them to demand their “government cease its aggression against Gaza”.

His Eminence reaffirmed Lebanon's unwavering support for Gaza, a stance acknowledged by both American and French entities.

Sayyed Nasrallah highlighted the consensus in Lebanon regarding the return of Syrian refugees, with few exceptions among certain NGOs and that “the primary obstacles to facilitating their return arise from the reluctance of European and American entities”.

The Resistance Chief stressed the importance of “supporting Syria in creating conditions conducive to the return of displaced persons, with a primary focus on lifting the sanctions imposed on” the country.

“If the Lebanese Parliament genuinely desires the return of displaced Syrians, it should call for the repeal of the Caesar Act by the United States and urge Europe to lift the imposed sanctions,” the Hezbollah SG asserted.

In the end of his speech, Sayyed Nasrallah has urged for “a unified Lebanese national stance to facilitate the voluntary departure of displaced Syrians towards Europe by opening the sea routes”.
