Hizbullah Secretary-General His Eminence Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah received the Democratic Party president Talal Arslan who "wondered about the attempts, some of the Lebanese, made at lessening the importance of the targeting of His Eminence`s life, by people known for the political, international and regional sides from behind whom they release their spears", while confirming that "the army intelligence is the one that uncovered the plot, hence this lessening strikes at the army morale and its information".
After the meeting, Arslan hoped that all the Lebanese, regardless of their political orientation, for once put politics aside and view the nation`s best interest and the direction Sayyed Nasrallah represents. Work must focus on revealing the facts rather than belittling them. He stressed that "Sayyed Nasrallah does not enter into the small local alleyway politics, but that he represents a clear and frank balance in Lebanon". Arslan added: "Sayyed Nasrallah does not only represent one Lebanese category, a Lebanese party, or only a specific group, but rather the general direction of Lebanon, whose is being targeted for destruction, and we, as political forces, denounce this act".
He added: "we thank the security authorities that uncovered this attempt, because had it succeeded, it may have absolutely ruined Lebanon, because current ongoing pressures on the Lebanese arena is aimed at pushing us into a dark tunnel, as the case has been for the last one and a half years or more".
Sayyed Nasrallah also received a delegation from Tashnaq party, whose central committee member Houfans Teskilyan confirmed that "the visit comes as a condemnation of the plot to assassinate His Eminence", he added: "it was an opportunity to review several of the topics raised in the country`s political arena such as the Republic Presidency topic.
Around the resistance weapon topic, there was agreement and confirmation on the necessity of establishing a Lebanese defense strategy that takes into consideration the elements of strength in Hizbullah and the Lebanese government". He also considered "the situation in the country does not instill optimism at all, and that he saw efforts being exerted to make the situation more positive, than it is negative today."
Sayyed Nasrallah also received Taiwan Foreign Minister James Huang, former MP Faisal al-Dawoud and the Coordinating Gathering of the Islamic Educational Enterprises.
On the other hand, Sayyed Nasrallah received more contacts condemning the assassination attempt, the most prominent of which came from: the mufti of the Republic of Lebanon, His Eminence Doctor Mohamed Rashid Qabbani, the former ministers Karam Karam and Mohsen Dalloul, Former MP Bahaauddin Eitani, sheikh Mohamed Abu Alqata president of the preachers society, sheikh Khaled Othman (the movement for Beirut Defense), Gibran Basil from the Free Patriotic Movement, Atallah Diab (the Solidarity Front), Emil Rahmeh the President of the Solidarity Party, the Christian Associations Union, Al-Tashnaq party, professor Fouad Eitani, sheikh Abu al-Hassan (Al-Tawheed Movement - sheikh Minkara Group), the society of Loyalty to Land & Human, the Lebanese Development Group & George Badih Zaka.
