Hezbollah Media Relations issued the following statement:

Hezbollah Media Relations denounces the Zionist occupation forces’ targeting of media outlets reporting from South Lebanon while they were on an announced tour that was previously known to be held in Yaroun for covering the impacts of the Zionist aggression. It also considers it a crime and a blatant aggression that aims at preventing the press from exposing its terrorist practices and unending crimes.

This new crime is added to the enemy’s full record of crimes against journalists and media outlets in Palestine and Lebanon, which includes killing journalists and destroying media headquarters. We are confident that this won’t prevent the free media figures from continuing their honorable mission in reflecting the scenes of defiance, heroism, and resistance, as well as exposing the crimes of this aggression.

We renew calling for the widest campaign in solidarity with journalists operating in Palestine and Lebanon, and to denounce ‘Israel’ in all international and humanitarian platforms.

Journalists in southern Lebanon were attacked on Monday in ‘Israeli’ strikes, which Al Jazeera network said lightly wounded its photographer.

Around a dozen journalists from several media outlets were on the tour to inspect damage from ‘Israeli’ bombardments and had been providing coverage from the border town of Yaruon when the strikes hit.

The cross-border incident came exactly a month after deadly ‘Israeli’ strikes hit a press group near Alma al-Shaab in southern Lebanon. On Oct 13, Reuters journalist Issam Abdallah was martyred and six other journalists from AFP, Al Jazeera and Reuters were wounded in an ‘Israeli’ strike while covering the cross-border fighting in southern Lebanon.
