The bloodshed in Gaza continues for the third day. The barbaric "Israeli" bombing of Gaza has so far killed 345 Palestinians and injured more than 1,500 others in the worst massacre "Israel" committed in occupied Palestine since 1948. Among the martyrs are children and women.
Twelve Palestinians were killed on Monday and 30 more wounded in two fresh "Israeli" occupation air raids in the Gaza Strip, medics and witnesses said. The raids were carried out in Beit Lahiya and Beit Hanun in the north of the battered territory.
Earlier, four Palestinians were killed Monday afternoon, including a Quds Brigades field commander in an "Israeli" air raid on the Absan area east of Khan Yunis. A Palestinian medical source said that Ziad Abu Tair, a member of the Islamic Jihad's armed wing, was killed with three other Palestinians and that five others were injured. In a statement, the Quds Brigades said that Abu Tair is one of its most prominent field commanders. According to witnesses, Abu Tair was with his son and some of his relatives near his house when the air raid was conducted.
Moreover, an air raid took place in Jabaliya and left seven people dead including six children, one of them was a 14-month old baby. Four other children are from a single family. "Israeli" warplanes also bombed the Islamic University and government compound in Gaza City. Witnesses saw fire and smoke at the university, counting six separate airstrikes there just after midnight.
The "Israeli" occupation army confirmed that fighter jets struck a series of targets in the Gaza Strip. Other targets were a guest palace used by the Hamas government and the house next to Prime Minister Ismail Hanieh's home in a refugee camp adjacent to Gaza City. He was not home at the time of the bombing.
"Israeli" "Operation Cast Lead" entered its third day amid official Arab silence and in some cases justification to the Zionist entity.
War Minister Ehud Barak said on Monday that "Israel" was in an "all-out war against Hamas and its proxies." "This operation will expand and deepen as much as needed," he said. "We went to war to deal a heavy blow to Hamas, to change the situation in the south."
SECOND "Israeli" SETTLER KILLED IN PAL ROCKETS
On Monday morning, an "Israeli" settler was killed when Qassam rockets pounded Ashkelon. According to "Israeli" medics, fifteen settlers were also wounded in the bombing. This is the second "Israeli" settler to be killed since Saturday by Palestinian rocket fire in retaliation to the "Israeli" massacre in Gaza.
