Hizbullah Secretary General Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah stressed the party has the willpower, strength and determination to disappoint the dreams of whomever is seeking to "get rid of Hizbullah". Sayyed Nasrallah was speaking during a graduation ceremony of university students in Beirut that was also attended by a delegation representing MP Michel Aoun`s Free Patriotic movement.
Hizbullah`s chief slammed some groups of the so called March 14 powers for wanting to impose their will and decisions on Lebanon while at the same time calling for dialogue without the participation of Aoun`s key political group. Sayyed Nasrallah addressed some March 14 groups who are calling the five Hizbullah and Amal ministers to return to the government on the basis of the Policy Statement, telling them that they have violated the statement.
We regret, brothers and sisters, and this is the ill humor of our time, to hear some people telling us: You should do so and so that we give you legitimacy.
Well, who are you to give us legitimacy?
We ask: What is left of the Policy Statement (government manifest)?
If the (occupied) Shibaa Farms are not Lebanese anymore, and if "Israel" is no longer an enemy, and there is more, if killing the collaborators who spent 23 years bombing towns in the South, Western Bekaa and Rashayya, if the killing of the collaborators who bombed the city of Sidon, and I cannot forget the pictures of the heads that were spread on the streets of Sidon, if the killing of the collaborators who bombed the city of Nabatiyeh and killed school children there, if those are being considered as martyrs, then what is left of the Policy Statement?
He who dreams, as Feltman, Welch or the Americans were quoted, he who dreams of getting rid of Hizbullah, in any position, he who dreams of getting rid of Hizbullah in any position is mistaken.
And I tell them more.
You will not only be mistaken, anyone who wants to work on getting rid of Hizbullah will also regret it and will not only be mistaken.
The moment we feel that someone is acting upon these dictations, we will not be shy, and we will say things as they are, whoever acts in collusion with such an American conspiracy is a Zionist "Israeli" Sharonist, and we`ll say it until our last breath.
I tell you, from the position of belongingness, faith, trust in God and the political assessment of the situation in Lebanon and the region, we will not be weak, and we will not go feeble, God willing. Be completely sure that in the midst of any such dispute, brothers and sisters, you are sitting in a strong fort, and they are sitting in houses of glass that breaks easily.
But we defend our fort and we don`t want to throw rocks at any house of glass in Lebanon, because we don`t want anything to break.
Don`t worry about the future. God willing, there will not be a civil war in Lebanon. There will not be a civil war in Lebanon God willing.
And what underlines this "not" is the willpower, determination steadfastness, patience and the exceptional tolerance capability.
Some leaders in this country said, and I don`t like to take the sayings of others, especially when they are good words, they said that those who possess the capability to start a civil war, don`t want to start a civil war, and I add to this, those who want to start a civil war cannot start a civil war.
Until today, and after seven months on the formation of this government, and as far as we know, this government does not have a clear economic plan.
We asked about this many times, and they told us that they are working on something.
Who is working on something? This is what we still don`t know.
Some are talking about conferences that will be held in Lebanon, or some of them were supposed to be held, I frankly say, and I believe that the brothers in Amal Movement agree, as partners in this government, we only read about the government`s economic plans in newspapers.
No one discussed any economic plan or ideas to solve the economic and social situation. As if they intend to work out a plan behind the scenes and then surprise the Lebanese with it, and when you stand up to oppose it, you will be accused of trying to hinder the economic reform in the country, and you want to impoverish the Lebanese people, and deprive Lebanon of foreign aids.
They will attack you and launch a psychological war against you, and I admit that they have people, media outlets and columnists who can launch such an attack, and then you stand puzzled, either you defend your people and become accused of treachery, or you abandon your people and become a real traitor. They put you in front of these two choices.
