Dream Comes True: Lebanon to Final Round of World Cup Qualification
By Staff, Agencies
Lebanon will enter the draw for the final round of World Cup qualification after results went their way in other groups.
With the group winners and the five best second-placed sides slated to go through to the third round, Lebanon needed a helping a hand heading into Tuesday’s fixtures after back-to-back losses to Turkmenistan and South Korea.
And they got precisely that, as Saudi Arabia defeated Uzbekistan 3-0 and Australia edged Jordan 1-0 to see the Cedars nab the final place amongst the group runners-up.
The draw for the third round will take place on June 24 at 10 a.m. Beirut time.
Lebanon have also sealed automatic qualification for the 2023 Asian Cup.
