Lebanon’s Covid-19: 5 Deaths, 214 Cases

Lebanese Health Ministry announced on Wednesday that the country recorded 214 coronavirus cases and five deaths over the past 24 hours.

The new cases bring the total number of coronavirus infections in Lebanon since the virus was first detected in the country in February 2020 to 540,844 along with a total of 7,740 deaths. Out of Wednesday’s figures, 10 cases were detected among travelers arriving in Lebanon.

The new cases were detected among 14,679 PCR and antigen tests, resulting in a two-week average positivity rate of 2.5 percent.

According to the Health Ministry report, as of Tuesday 223 individuals were in hospital with the virus along with 116 patients in intensive care wards and 46 on ventilators.
