Lebanon’s Covid-19:  319 New Cases, 8 Deaths

The Lebanese Health Ministry announced that the country has recorded 319 coronavirus cases and eight deaths over the past 24 hours.

The new cases bring the total number of coronavirus infections in Lebanon since the virus was first detected in the country in February 2020 to 539,590, along with a total of 7,705 deaths. Out of Thursday's figures, seven cases were detected among travelers arriving in Lebanon.

The new infections were detected among 13,901 PCR and antigen tests carried out in the past 24 hours, and witnessed another drop in the two-week positivity rate, which now stands at 3.2 percent.

A further 6,525 first dose coronavirus vaccines were administered over the last 24 hours, resulting in a total of 451,066 individuals who have received the jab, or 9.5 percent of the eligible population. The Health Ministry also reported that 7,224 second-dose jabs were administered, resulting in a total of 234,213 individuals who are now fully vaccinated in Lebanon, nearly 5 percent of the eligible population.
