‘Israeli’ party Yesh Atid head Yair Lapid, who is designated to form the current ‘Israeli’ government, harshly criticized the Zionist entity’s incumbent Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and his government, whom he accused to repeated failure in finding a solution for the dilemma of Gaza.

“The recent attacks by the Air Force against Gaza aim at deterring Hamas and making the military level possible for working from the position of strength within the political arena to end the battle,” Lapid claimed, pointing out however, that “The government proved its failure yet another time.”

As with respect to the US demand to stop the offensive after having spent 11 days to make achievements and protect its security, as it claims, and after the end of the Air Force’s mission, Lapid said “The US administration’s request could not be ignored, especially amid the challenges awaiting ‘Israel’ starting from Iran and Syria to Hezbollah’s growing might, which require continued and increased coordination with the United States.”

According to Lapid, the ‘Israeli’ occupation army has taken advantage of the eight years that followed the 2014 aggression on Gaza to enhance its ‘defensive’ capabilities in the air and the ground. It also intensified its intelligence activities to update its “bank of targets”.

“The ‘Israeli’ government has failed in all aspects, and this is tangible through the fragile fortifications in the ‘Israeli’ depth, in addition to the media failure on the international level,” he added.

Elsewhere, pointing to the strategy that should be adopted to deal with Gaza, Lapid said “it became necessary to form a new government that works within two paths; the first is to weaken Hamas’s power and assassinate its leaders in case it wanted to raise its head towards working in the civil field to provoke the public opinion in Gaza, and the second is to cooperate with the locals paving the way to disarm it in coordination and cooperation with the international community.
