Following a week of heightened tension and violent 'Israeli' attacks against worshipers at the holy al-Aqsa Mosque in the occupied city of al-Quds, around one hundred thousand Palestinians on Thursday morning performed the Eid al-Fitr prayers at the holy site, marking the end of the Muslim month of fasting, Ramadan.

The worshipers managed to do it despite the tight restrictions imposed by the occupation forces to prevent Palestinians from reaching the occupied holy city and performing prayers inside the holy mosque.

Worshipers flocked from al-Quds, its suburbs, and the Palestinian towns occupied since 1948, some few others from the West Bank due to the condition that only the elderly are allowed in.

Dozens of Maqdessis also performed the Eid prayer at the entry of the Old City after they were ordered away by the occupation forces, most of which were the activists that were stationed in the holy mosque over the past week.

Meanwhile, massive protests were held in support of Gaza and against the continued aggression against the besieged strip.
