Twitter confirmed that it had suspended multiple accounts over reposting content from a new blog of former US President Donald Trump.

The blog went online on Wednesday, ahead of Facebook's oversight board decision on upholding the ban on Trump's account.

It features dozens of posts "straight from the desk of Donald J. Trump," as it's name suggests, and makes for Trump's salvo at the social media networks that banned him in the wake of January 6 Capitol Hill unrest.

The posts can be shared on Facebook and Twitter, prompting some of the users to do so -- much to Twitter's displeasure.

"As stated in our ban evasion policy, we'll take enforcement action on accounts whose apparent intent is to replace or promote content affiliated with a suspended account," AFP cited a Twitter spokesperson as saying.

Twitter claimed it permanently suspended Trump's account after the deadly January 6 Capitol riot because there was a risk he would further incite violence, following months of tweets disputing US President Joe Biden's presidential election victory.

A slew of other platforms did so as well, prompting Trump to mull setting up a social media platform of his own.
