The “Israeli” entity’s MK Bezalel Smotrich, head of the far-right Religious Zionism party, urged “Israeli” Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and Gideon Sa’ar, head of the New Hope party, to work together to form a ruling coalition.

He called on the two politicians to give up their rivalry in a bid to avoid handing the keys to the enity’s future to "our enemies."

The latter, Smotrich charged, are seeking to sweet-talk the “Israeli” right into handing them more authority – an apparent nod at the Ra’am party – a breakaway faction of the predominantly Arab Joint List alliance.

Netanyahu had been reportedly courting Ra’am ahead of the March 23 elections, and in its wake, the party, with its four seats at the Knesset, could propel Netanyahu to 61 mandates if supporting his coalition along with the right-wing Yamina.

However, the prospect did not go well with Smotrich, who earlier accused Ra’am of including terrorism supporters in its ranks.

In Wednesday's remarks, Smotrich vowed to support any arrangement that Sa’ar and Netanyahu could reach on a coalition, urging the two to “save ‘Israel’”.

On April 6, the “Israeli” entity’s so-called President Reuven Rivlin tapped Netanyahu to form a ruling coalition after the PM received 52 recommendations for the position.

The election, however, left both the PM and his arch-nemesis, Yesh Atid chief Yair Lapid with no clear pathway to a 61-seat coalition.
