Lebanon registered 51 new coronavirus-related deaths and 1,471 more cases in the last 24 hours, the Health Ministry said Monday, as the country relaxed lockdown restrictions further, and Cabinet formation failed to occur.

The cases were detected among 11,825 tests, with only 23 cases found among travelers arriving at Beirut International Airport. The positivity rate average throughout the last two weeks stood at 17.4 percent.

The total number of cases since the virus was first detected in the country on Feb. 21, 2020 rose to 441,014, according to figures released by the Health Ministry. The total number of fatalities now stands at 5,808.

The statistics provided by the Health Ministry also show that 2,425 patients are currently hospitalized for COVID-19 and related complications, with 992 in the ICU and 297 requiring ventilators.

Coronavirus jabs are not administered Sundays, and so no data was recorded in the past 24 hours regarding vaccines.
