Donald Trump Jr. Slams White House’s Refusal to Speak with Putin As Weakness

Donald Trump Jr. blasted the refusal of US President Joe Biden’s administration to agree to hold a direct conversation as proposed by Russian President Vladimir Putin as a sign of weakness of the United States.

"Putin just challenged Joe Biden to an unscripted live debate. The whole world knows that we have no leadership at the top just an empty suit with a teleprompter [and he can’t even get that right]. They look at America’s weakness right now and are salivating," he wrote on Twitter.

Earlier, Putin addressed Biden's controversial statement about alleged Russian meddling in the 2020 presidential elections, which took a personal turn against him.

"As for the statement by my American counterpart, we really are, as he said, personally acquainted. What would I answer him? I would tell him: stay healthy! I wish him good health", Putin said, stressing he is not joking or being ironic.

Biden previously told ABC News that his Russian counterpart would "pay a price" for alleged interference in the 2020 US presidential vote, also agreeing when journalists asked if Putin is a "killer."
