Lebanon Registers 61 Coronavirus Deaths, 3,463 New Cases

Lebanon registered 61 more coronavirus-related deaths and 3,463 new cases in the last 24 hours, the Health Ministry said Wednesday.

The cases were detected among 21,105 tests, with only 17 cases found among travelers arriving at Beirut International Airport. The positivity rate throughout the last two weeks stood at 17.6 percent.

The total number of cases since coronavirus was first detected in Lebanon on Feb. 21, 2020, now stands at 383,482, as per statistics released by the Health Ministry. The total number of fatalities has risen to 4,866.

The data provided by the Health Ministry also shows that 2,178 patients are currently hospitalized for COVID-19 and related complications, with 886 in the ICU and 273 requiring ventilators.

Lebanon National Operations Room, meanwhile, reported 5,228 people were inoculated over the past 24 hours, bringing the total number of people vaccinated to 61,235 since the start of the campaign on Feb. 14.
