Hizbullah official in South Lebanon Sheikh Nabil Qaouk said that the issue of Shibaa Farms and Kfar Shouba Hills were more important than any domestic elections.
He added that the simplest and most effective way of retrieving the Shibaa Farms and the Kfar Shouba Hills was through resistance, without giving the enemy any gains or political advantages.
"Hizbullah has offered one opportunity after another for political choices which failed to retrieve Shibaa," he said. "Accordingly, there is no other choice but the strategy of resistance."
During the memorial ceremonies for Martyrs' Day in Sour on Wednesday, Qaouk told "those who contributed to the creation of UN Security Council Resolution 1701 and are still counting on it," that the resolution demanded in its tenth article that the UN secretary general present a proposal resolving the issue of the Shibaa Farms, within 30 days.
"Almost 30 months have passed and the Security Council and diplomacy," have still not guaranteed the return of the farms to Lebanon, he said.
Qaouk went on, saying that, "the Resistance has been able to benefit from all internal, regional and international developments to reinforce its political, military, and popular capacities since the July War 2006."
Qaouk also said that another achievement was the "burial" of demands to disarm Hizbullah which, he said, were now outdated. The resistance strategy agenda, he said, is prevailing among all Lebanese and in the wider region.
He also said that reconciliation in Lebanon has started and the agenda set by the national opposition was stronger than attempts to create media and political tension by other factions.
