In a political forum hosted by Hizbullah in the town of Jibbain on Martyr΄s Day Commemoration, the Labor Minister Mohammad Fneish, in the presence of a number of prominent personalities and people, stressed "keenness to uphold the current dialogue, the understandings and the atmosphere of reconciliation, to prepare the atmospheres for holding parliamentary elections on time."
He indicated that "the approaching parliamentary elections with its political implications, will paint a future for new balances of forces, and give the existing forces their proper representational sizes. Hence, the institutions and power will be rebuilt based on these new sizes."
He said: "We are awaiting the results of the dialogue on the national defense strategy. We would like to register our reservations and criticism regarding those who did not retain what was circulated and agreed on the dialogue table, such as keeping the topics and views discussed at the dialogue table away from the media."
He said, "Those directing their spears of criticism, confusion and distortion are the ones demanding to present their view of how to defend this country.
To consider sufficient for Lebanon to rely on its relations, a promise here and a promised there, or to make Lebanon part of the axes of foreign policies does not serve the interests of the country, but rather makes Lebanon vulnerable to significant risks that threaten its stability, sovereignty as well as give the enemy an opportunity to revive its expansionist project thereby fortifying its foothold in the parts it now occupies in Shibaa Farms and Kafr Shouba hills."
He emphasized, "There must be a change in U.S. foreign policy, that there is a return to diplomacy away from the use of force."
He also asked, "Will we experience a U.S. Administration that puts an end to biased U.S. policies in the interest of the 'Israeli' enemy?"
"Will the new American Administration be a helpful cause and a factor in returning the Palestinian right to its original owners and the Palestinian people to their home?"
He added: "With the election of this new president, I do not see such a dramatic change."
