Hariri: Meeting with Sayyed Nasrallah was positive

Future Movement leader MP Saad Hariri said on Friday that his discussions with Hizbullah Secretary General Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah during their meeting on Sunday night were honest. He added that both parties had their own unbendable points.
In an interview with Rusiya Al-Yaum, a Moscow-based news channel that broadcasts in Arabic, Hariri said that Nasrallah had the will and desire to move beyond the May events, which Hariri said destroyed dialogue and reconciliation and would not be easily mitigated.
He said that Lebanon was still capable of conducting the parliamentary elections in 2009 and that ballot boxes would define the people's will. He also said that the March 14 alliance would emerge victorious because they rejected extremism.
Hariri said that if Al-Qaeda or other fundamentalist factions were involved in recent assassinations and attempted assassinations, they would definitely have announced their responsibility. Such acts could not be organized without the backing of a state, Hariri said.
