Commenting on the United States’ decision to impose sanction against former Lebanese ministers Ali Hassan Khalil and Youssef Finianos, Hezbollah issued the following statement:

First, on the moral level, we consider this unjust decision a legion of honor for the two dear friends and everybody whom the US administration accuse of resisting or supporting the resistance.

Second, the US administration is a terrorist authority that spreads damage and destruction in the entire world. It is the biggest sponsor of Zionist and Takfiri terrorism in our region, and it basically has no right to blacklist the honorable and resistant people. All what comes from this administration is condemned and rejected.

Third, this US sanctions policy won’t achieve its goals in Lebanon, and it won’t lead to the Lebanese submission nor forcing them to compromise their national sovereign rights. This policy will rather make them adhere more to their free decision, national dignity and full sovereignty. The stances issued by the Amal Movement leadership and the al-Marada Movement also affirm this reality.

We in Hezbollah reiterate our solidarity with the two dear brothers. We support them and hail their steadfast, solid and sacrificing stance to defend Lebanon, its freedom, and dignity.
