Hamas Top Official: Working on Palestinian Unity, Hamas Belongs to Resistance Axis

The head of the political bureau of the Palestinian Resistance Movement Hamas, Ismail Haniyeh, revealed the start of a national plan based on strengthening popular resistance, activating the Palestinian Liberation Organization [PLO], and ending the division between Gaza and the West Bank.

In an interview with Al-Manar channel, Haniyeh said: “We adopt the option of resistance and see that it is the most successful one to confront the ‘Israeli’ occupation.”

“We belong to the broad resistance movement in the region in order to preserve Palestine,” Haniyeh said, indicating that the battle with the Zionist enemy will be based on a solid bloc in the region that is the axis of resistance.

Hamas top official further stressed that the United Arab Emirates [UAE] had no justifications to go towards normalization with the Zionist enemy. “This agreement came to serve [Donald] Trump and [Benjamin] Netanyahu.”

In parallel, Haniyeh called for the release of Palestinians detainees in Saudi prisons.

Praising Syria's support of the Palestinian cause, Haniyeh hoped that Syria “regains security and stability as this would support the Palestinian cause.”

Commenting on the meeting of the Palestinian factions Secretary Generals, Haniyeh said that “it came as a result of an in-depth dialogue with the Fatah movement and it formed a basic basis for a good start towards unity.”
