12 Palestinian Detainees Test Positive for Coronavirus In ‘Israeli’ Ofer Prison

Head of the Palestinian Committee for the Affairs of Detainees and Liberated, Qadri Abu Bakr, announced Wednesday that 12 detainees in ‘Israeli’ "Ofer" Prison are infected with the novel Coronavirus.

Abu Bakr said in a press statement that information obtained by the committee’s lawyer stated that 12 detainees in section 21 of "Ofer" Prison had been infected with the virus.

He indicated that the prison's administration had closed the section in which 160 detainees were being held, and the infected ones had been isolated.

Abu Bakr expressed his fear of an increase in the number of infections due to medical negligence, holding the occupation authorities fully responsible for their safety.
