By Staff, Agencies
White House Chief of Staff Mark Meadows said he is "hopeful" of some "good news" regarding a coronavirus vaccine and other treatments in the coming days.
"We're hopeful that, with some of the breakthrough technology on therapeutics, that we will be able to announce some new therapies in the coming days", he noted.
Meadows’ statement came as more than 1,000 Americans died for five straight days last week for the first time since May.
The United States remains the country with the most coronavirus cases [over 4.2 million] and the highest COVID-19 death toll [over 146,000], according to the latest data from Johns Hopkins University.
