Protesters Call on Netanyahu to Step Down
By Staff, Agencies
Hundreds of “Israelis” gathered outside Prime Minister Netanyahu's al-Quds [Jerusalem] residence, calling on the leader step down.
Some brandished banners castigating the PM over his handling of the coronavirus pandemic as well as the corruption charges against him.
Earlier in the week thousands took part in a similar rally, which saw clashes between protesters and police.
The protests come as the “Israeli” entity’s social workers, currently involved in indefinite strike action, have earlier on Thursday attempted to block al-Quds’ Light Rail as they continue to protest work and conditions.
In another blow to Netanyahu, both the head of the entity’s central bank and senior figures in the government coalition slammed as "inefficient" his universal financial aid program aimed at kick-starting the economy during the pandemic.
The “Israeli” entity is battling the second wave of the pandemic. Every day for the last week has seen over 1,600 new cases, according to Health Ministry figures.
