Iranian Foreign Ministry Spokesman Abbas Mousavi slammed Washington that proclaims itself as the so-called advocate of human rights and presents the annual human rights reports about other countries while openly violating the rights of its own nationals.

“Black Americans are faced with systematic breach of human rights,” he added.

In response to a question regarding E3 suggestion for extending arms embargo by 2023, Mousavi said that the Western countries, especially the US endeavors to make Iranian defensive capabilities, a security matter.

Lashing out at the United States’ practices in violation of the international law, Mousavi underscored that the Continuation of arms embargo is against the articles of UNSCR 2231, stressing that the European countries and the US are responsible for the consequences.

The interaction between Europe and the United States is about themselves, but we will not give up our rights, he noted.

Elaborating on Iran's reaction to extension of arms embargo, Mousavi said Iran has planned two or three special measures, noting that they will likely not be used.

Elsewhere, Mousavi said that one of the main issues between Iran and European countries is sheltering terrorists. “We had earlier warned them in this regard.”
