Leader of Islamic Revolution His Eminence Imam Sayyed Ali Khamenei received a number of Judiciary officials on Saturday on the occasion of the National Judiciary Week.

“If we perform our duty, they will regret their actions and fail to achieve their aims and the result of the so-called maximum pressure for brining Iranian people to their knees will turn into a punch on their own chests and push them back,” Imam Khamenei underscored.

The meeting was held via videoconferencing, in which Judiciary Chief Seyyed Ebrahim Raisi delivered a report on the activities of the body in the past year.

The Judiciary Week in Iran is named after Seyyed Mohammad Hosseini Beheshti along with 72 colleagues who were martyred in a terrorist bomb blast in June 1981. Ayatollah Beheshti served as the head of the Judiciary in the early years after the victory of the Islamic revolution.

Imam Khamenei stressed the necessity to protect Iran on all levels, especially against the US and UK’s hostility and the European measures.

His Eminence further emphasized the importance of thwarting the ‘maximum pressure’ policy, and reversing its repercussions on those who initiated pressurizing the Iranian people.

Relatively, Imam Khamenei noted that fighting corruption, which reached its climax in the modern era, must continue without any negligence, adding that it should be based on rights, justice and law without attacking or oppressing the innocent people by those in power.

“People are filled with hope when fighting the corrupt away from permissiveness and considerations, because financial and economic corruption are very dangerous like the Coronavirus and they spread strongly,” Imam Khamenei underscored.

“The difference between the Coronavirus and the corruption virus is that the first is removed by washing hands, however combatting corruption couldn’t be done without cutting off the corrupt person's hand.”

Imam Khamenei hailed the recent actions of the Judiciary in “reviving public rights” as truly pleasing. "Prosecutors must try their best to defend the rights of the people. These rights include prosecuting those who harm the environment."

"People’s easy access to the Judiciary, efforts to improve ppl’s judicial awareness, constant and direct contact with the people and benefiting from assistance and information from the public in issues such as fighting corruption are examples of the Judiciary’s being people-oriented," His Eminence pointed out.

Elsehwere in his remarks, Imam Khamenei slammed US President Donald Trump who talks about 10 years of imprisonment for those who bring down symbols of slavery and racism, while the US government separates the children of immigrants from their parents. "Most US mainstream media and movies depict US courts as being centers of absolute justice."
