NBA'a all time greatest basketball player Michael Jordan announced Friday he will donate $100 million to social justice groups over the span of 10 years amid nationwide protests calling to end police brutality against African Americans.

“Black lives matter. This isn't a controversial statement,” Michael Jordan and the Jordan Brand – a large firm of basketball related-items – said in a joint statement on the official Nike website.

“Until the ingrained racism that allows our country’s institutions to fail is completely eradicated, we will remain committed to protecting and improving the lives of Black people,” the statement read, referring to George Floyd's case, an unarmed man who was allegedly killed by a police officer in Minneapolis on May 25 while handcuffed in custody.

“Today, we are announcing that Michael Jordan and Jordan Brand will be donating $100 million over the next 10 years to organizations dedicated to ensuring racial equality, social justice and greater access to education.”
