Hundreds of “Israelis” currently had their personal information – including identity card numbers, credit card details and mobile phone numbers – published to the internet by a pro-Palestinian cyber group, “Israeli” broadcaster Channel 12 reported Tuesday.

Calling itself the Anonymous Islamic JEArmy, the group took responsibility for the incident.

According to Channel 12, the massive intelligence breach is part of an annual coordinated campaign called #OpIsrael, where both “Israeli” government sites and private accounts are hacked for information.

The “Israeli” cybersecurity company, Insights, says the published information is not new and has been previously collected.

In addition, the company said the hacking could be a response to “Israeli” government plans to annex some 30% of the occupied West Bank after the start of July.

"I think it is likely," said Ariel Einhorn, head of the Insight team that traced the recent hack. "As annexation takes up more and more space in the media, piracy attempts will increase," he said.

In late May, thousands of “Israeli” websites were targeted by a large-scale computer attack, with home pages being systematically replaced by images of Tel Aviv on fire and covered in blood.
