Lebanon extended the mandate of the United Nations Interim Forces in Lebanon [UNIFIL] mission on the country's border with the ‘Israeli’-occupied Palestinian territories for one year on Friday, the Associated Press reported.

According to the agency, citing the country's information ministry, the extension would prolong the mission's mandate for another year.

The approval follows reports that the Zionist entity is calling for changes in how the mission operates, including granting it freedom of movement as well as the power to access any sites in south Lebanon.

Meanwhile, the Tel Aviv regime also seeks to add a provision that would allegedly make the force report to the Security Council any time it is prevented from accessing any location.
