EU Minister for Foreign Affairs Josep Borrell called on the ‘Israeli’ occupation regime on Monday night to avoid unilateral steps, referring to the newly elected government’s recent statements on annexing West Bank areas.

“We urge ‘Israel’ to refrain from any unilateral decision that would lead to the annexation of any occupied Palestinian territory,” Borrell tweeted.

“[International] law is a cornerstone of [international] rules-based order. We will therefore not recognize any changes to 1967 borders unless agreed by ‘Israelis’ + Palestinians,” according to Borrell.

On Friday, a conference of EU foreign ministers on the Zionist regime’s annexation ambitions and US President Donald Trump’s Mideast so-called ‘peace’ proposal was held.

Borrell said the EU will utilize “all its diplomatic capacities” to torpedo a unilateral ‘Israeli’ move. However, the conference failed to produce a joint position on a possible EU response.
