Lebanon Coronavirus: Total Cases Hit 133

One additional person died from coronavirus and 13 new cases were recorded in Lebanon, the Health Ministry announced Wednesday.

The deceased person was in 90s of age, had poor existing health and suffered from chronic illnesses, the ministry's statement said.

The total number of cases in Lebanon now stands at 133, and includes four deaths and three recoveries from the virus.

Late Wednesday afternoon Rafik Hariri University Hospital announced that a woman died at the hospital's coronavirus ward after arriving with a shortness of breath. Test results to confirm whether she had contracted the virus will not come out before Thursday, the report added.

Lebanon is three days into a nationwide lockdown that has seen most public and private institutions shuttered. The Internal Security Forces is monitoring compliance with the government's measures.

Only a handful of planes were scheduled to fly in and out of Beirut International Airport Wednesday. The country’s land, sea and air borders will remain sealed to most traffic.
