‘Israeli’ Court to Hear Petition against Government’s Mass Surveillance Program

The Zionist so-called High Court of Justice will hear a petition against new government measures allowing the occupation entity’s security services to track down coronavirus carriers following an announcement by Zionist Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu earlier this week.
Concerns over liberties and privacy rights were raised in the petition filed by attorney Shahar Ben-Meir against Netanyahu, the government and Attorney General Avichai Mandelblit.
“Even a dangerous new virus shouldn’t create a regime whereby the government decides everything and there is nobody to monitor or counterbalance it,” Ben-Meir argued in the petition.
“A leadership that has all the power has devastating potential, and emergency times don’t have the power to render other government branches powerless.”
The new policy was approved by the Zionist entity’s caretaker government during a cabinet meeting on Monday night, which stripped away many of the safeguards and oversight promised by Netanyahu.
A hearing on the matter is set for Thursday.
