The blast is believed to be the result of rivalry between local lawyers, who immediately crowded the area following the incident.

At least three people were injured on Thursday in an explosion which ripped through the court in Lucknow, the capital of the Indian state of Uttar Pradesh, according to local media reports.

The blast is believed to have occurred as a result of a rivalry between local lawyers. The Times of India newspaper quoted Sanjeev Lodhi, joint secretary of the Lucknow bar association, as claiming that he was the target.

Police are already on the spot as some news reports claimed that "more than three live bombs" were found in the area.

According to the Times of India, the blast occurred “in the Lucknow collectorate in Hazratganj, near the district magistrate's office and barely a kilometer from the Uttar Pradesh Vidhan Sabha [lower house]”.
