Lebanon’s Foreign Ministry Wednesday condemned the US “attack on Iraq’s sovereignty” after American troops bombed Iraqi Resistance group's bases in the country.

On Sunday, the US launched air strikes against bases of Iraq’s Hezbollah Brigades [Kataib Hezbollah], causing the martyrdom of at least 25 fighters. The strikes came in response to missile attacks that killed a US contractor in Iraq.

A statement from the Lebanese Foreign Ministry condemned “the bombing of Iraqi lands.”

In Baghdad Tuesday, Iraqis stormed the US Embassy in anger at the airstrikes and set up a protest camp.

On Wednesday, they threw rocks at the building, leading security forces to fire tear gas and stun grenades to disperse them.

Most protesters fully withdrew from the embassy by Wednesday afternoon.
