Yemeni Air Defenses Close 2019 with Shooting More Spy Drones

Yemeni Armed Forces Spokesman Brigadier General Yehya Saree announced on Monday that the Yemeni Air Defenses shot down a Saudi Karayel spy drone in the Salif airspace, above al-Hudaydah.

The drone was targeted with a ground-to-air missile while carrying out hostile activities in breach of the Sweden Agreement.

The achievement emphasizes that the Yemeni airspace could no longer be profaned, in addition to that it inaugurates the year of aerial defense, Saree added.

Also on Monday, Air Defenses of the Yemeni Army and Popular Committees shot down a hostile spy drone, run by the US-Saudi aggression, in Saadah.

A military source stated that Air Defenses downed another spy drone was carrying out hostilities on Razih district.

It is worth mentioning that the Yemeni Air Defenses downed 9 spy drones belonging to the aggression in December and the 70th in this year.

Saree said in a press conference Sunday that: "The air defense operations downed 69 drones belonging to the aggression forces, which were divided between 7 combat drones, 9 low reconnaissance planes and 53 spy drones. The number of countering and interceptions, as well as forced departure operations reached 237 operations.”
